Gabriel Vs BFG
Gabriel Vs BFG
I m hoping he picks Gabriel..... but can see how BFG would do a different and useful kind of job ( being captain is no reason to pick him though in my opinion ) So I m kinda of the fence but Gabriel shades it for me

The latest pictures from training ground -no GP.

Re: Gabriel Vs BFG
One of them has had more than enough chances to prove himself and has shirked the physical battle time and time again and let us down unforgiveably against those Chav c.unts a couple of weeks back
The other is raw, and has to cope with stinging criticism on here despite only coming in for the odd game here and there and surely has to be worth a run of games before we pass judgement. A decent coach should be able to turn him into a better partner for Kos than that big German fanny

Re: Gabriel Vs BFG
Wouldn't be worth watching imo, there will be zero aggression but lots of ducking and weaving

Re: Gabriel Vs BFG
both of them give me the shits.
BFG as everyone know's is slow as fuck and just does the simple things well. We should of got rid 3 years ago.
Gabriel dwells on the ball too much, you don't get the time on the ball like you do in Spain.
So it's a case of Vardy will skinned BFG for pace. Or Vardy will harass and bully Gabriel in to a mistake. So take your pick.
You've got to love Merse on Soccer Saturday he's advice to play Bellerin at CB

I vote for Gabriel.
Mertesacker is past his best and a coward at that. Like Arteta, he helped us though a difficult time - from the trolleydash of 2011 through to ending the trophy drought - and both should have been moved on at that point.

Raw ?? Gabriel is no rookie steveo - he defends like a rookie at times, but there is no way he should be raw at this stage of his career
Re: Gabriel Vs BFG
I think he needs games to get to grips with the Prem, not that I'm saying he's the best CB in the world, but he needs games to prove or disprove himself.augie wrote:SteveO 35 wrote:One of them has had more than enough chances to prove himself and has shirked the physical battle time and time again and let us down unforgiveably against those Chav c.unts a couple of weeks back

Re: Gabriel Vs BFG
Maybe not raw in years, but raw in terms of experience in this country and this team. Look at Otamendi at City - was supposedly the defender with the best stats (wanky though stats are) in Spain and looked like a fish out of water here. We saw it happen with Koscielny too - he wasn't a kid when we signed him, but he was very raw in terms of physical power and coping with this division.augie wrote:SteveO 35 wrote:One of them has had more than enough chances to prove himself and has shirked the physical battle time and time again and let us down unforgiveably against those Chav c.unts a couple of weeks back

Ultimately Gabriel might never prove himself - I just don't think he's had enough time to do it just yet, whilst the other useless fucker has ducked out of the physical side for the entire period he's been here
