That's been worrying for a long time and why we have all been begging Wenger to by a good striker.foxinthebox2001 wrote:Bottom line is a vital 3 points.
Not at all convinced of any title aspirations though in the overall performance.
Leicester were worthy of their half time advantage, they looked more comfortable in their formation and were the better team, marginally.
On the penalty, any player that leaves a foot out, or a leg dangling in the area when an attacker is running at them is asking for trouble. It wasn't cheating, it was getting an advantage. See the Pires incident a few years ago.
I bet I wasn't the only one who feared the worst when calamity Chambers was starting the 2nd half alongside the BFG.
Vardy must have thought it was Christmas come early.
The red card was possibly harsh, but on a yellow, you have to watch your step. I will mention here I wasn't all that impressed with our persistent moaning to the official after every foul, Giroud and Alexis never stopped.
The only seriously bad challenge was on Ramsey late on.
I think I am correct in saying that up to the red card (54th minute) we had not had an attempt on target, that is very worrying.
Finally, we got Wenger in the post match interview stating we had turned a corner, passed a pivotal moment.
Not at all, we laboured against 11 men, doubftful if we would have won had Simpson not tugged on Giroud, and would probably have come away with just one point had that Pole, built like a brick shit house not been reckless in the 94th minute.
A turning point will be when, or if we do hit the front, we don't choke once again.

After having calmed down from the hysteria of the last minute win, gotta admit it wasn't totally convincing display from us... We have a serious problem keeping the ball lately. Leicester were more precise when they had the ball in the first half.. We won't get away with it too often in the big games coming up. I hope the addition of Cazorla and wilshere to the squad soon will bring the quality back to our play

I might have got this wrong and if so it won't be the first time so forgive me but if this is a dig as Walcott I remembered that he only sticks hos arms up in celebrations and then rushes back to the centre circle to get on with the game, in fact 2 players slowed him down to celebrate with him but he just wanted to get on with the game.Natural Born Gooner wrote:At Walcott celebrating like he'd scored the winning CL goal...
Anyhow if I got the wrong end of the stick then sorry.
WHERE ARE YOU RAY C

That was the most I've celebrated a winning goal by us in a long long time, funny thing was I had just said to my nephew "I like Welbeck and always want him to do well but he won't score if he was out there for 3 days"

I hope that all those people that have romanticised about leicester winning the league because they're an honest hard working bunch of guys have seen them for what they really are (and raneiri), a petulant bunch of dirty diving pricks

Re: Leicester at home 14th 1200
It's official, it was not a penalty, Alan Green has just said that Vardy pushed the ball around the defender, then just ran into him.

Re: Leicester at home 14th 1200
Tell that to both Henry and Carragher, who were too busy with the Leicester love in to give an objective thought on the decision.casgooner wrote:It's official, it was not a penalty, Alan Green has just said that Vardy pushed the ball around the defender, then just ran into him.![]()

Yeah its brilliant having the scum win at Man City, going level with us and just 2 behind Leicester, if you think we are going to win the league you are even more deluded than Wengermcdowell42 wrote:GoonerN5 wrote:Leicester win hopefully

You know, most of us are just taking each game as it comes. Today was great at the death, just enjoy it.GoonerN5 wrote:Yeah its brilliant having the scum win at Man City, going level with us and just 2 behind Leicester, if you think we are going to win the league you are even more deluded than Wengermcdowell42 wrote:GoonerN5 wrote:Leicester win hopefully

What the fuck are we doing laps of the pitch and dressing room selfies for? Win something first for fuck sake. That's so small time.

Could you imagine Ferguson standing for this shit?rodders999 wrote:What the fuck are we doing laps of the pitch and dressing room selfies for? Win something first for fuck sake. That's so small time.
Fucking embarrassing. Great win today and felt great to nick it at the death - felt fucking fantastic in fact. But it's one good win after we picked up 2 points from 3 big games in Jan, so with our horrendous Feb/March I'd be thinking twice before getting carried away with celebrations.
Re: Leicester at home 14th 1200
The team is a reflection of the manager. Wenger constantly leaves himself open to criticism with his misguided, idiotic comments, while the team with their selfies again will be ridiculed if things go wrong.

Not quite as bad as Messiah Klopp leading a chorus of "hoorays" in front of the Kop after a 2-2 draw with West Brom !rodders999 wrote:What the fuck are we doing laps of the pitch and dressing room selfies for? Win something first for fuck sake. That's so small time.

Stuck on Gatwick runway for a full fcuking hour without moving so I haven't seen as much as a second of this game yet
Post game comments seem to sum up the life of a modern day Gooner........euphoria mixed in with some real frustration. I cant comment on the performance (obviously) but will they ever learn not to be doing the lap of honour bullshit until they get a trophy ??
Maybe it isn't as bad as the scouse celebration a few weeks ago, but we are better than them and should have loftier ambitions than them so therefore shouldn't be judged by their actions

Re: Leicester at home 14th 1200
I don't see what the problem is with the players trying to build a bond with the fans and visa versa. It's been done in Germany for years and if it stops the mass exit with 10 minutes to go even better.
Re: Leicester at home 14th 1200
I actually LOVED the players jumping into the crowd - its been sodding ages since I saw something like that at the Bowl between fans and players. Normally its that pathetic tapping of the chest or kissing the poxy badge.
Was it really a lap of honour.....or just some appreciation of those who weren't c.unty enough to leave in the 80th minute ?
