As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Yet again, our "beautiful" football failed to score a goal. There have been so many games, especially recently, where we've failed to find the back of the net. I heard a stat saying that the Emirates was the ground which had seen the third fewest goals in the PL this season (with only Old Trafford and Vicarage Road having seen less goal action). Someone will be able to clarify that but it's funny if it's true.
Obviously Mertesacker and Flamini deserve to be slated for last night's defeat but in general, the defence seems to be doing its job adequately (if not brilliantly) and we've got a quality goalkeeper. I think we've got real problems upfront. Maybe when your main striker is a lumbering carthorse like Giroud, then that affects the whole attacking game but I think it's a severe indictment that a team which has Ozil and Sanchez is struggling to score goals. Is it the Giroud factor? Or the absence of Cazorla? Or are we just too clueless when it comes to being clinical?

Imagine for a second you are Ozil.
You receive the ball. You work a yard of space. You look to play a ball for your striker. Then you see Giroud. Then you start to question your life.
After all, where is the French lampost (a: in the same place he was ten minutes ago, b: standing out wide watching what's going on in the area or c: waddling towards the area).
If forwards can't make intelligent runs, your passing options are limited and usually agricultural.
I'm praying that Welbeck can improve his finishing because our alternatives are quick but poor or slow and slightly better.
We've had a shite attack for years; further hindered by our frustrating and cowardly sideways football. Couple that with poor defending and positional discipline and you have a perfect recipe for footballing purgatory

I hear Wenger keeps all his match plans and tactic files in his attic....along with a list of all the players we have almost signed....said to be 'considerwable'.
We've now failed to score in 5 of the last 8 games. But of course Wenger was unable to find the personnel to strengthen the squad in either of the last two transfer windows.

And yet he will continue to argue that we have enough quality in attack (whilst naming all the dodo options ) and in the summer, IF he buys a striker, then he wont be top quality and more likely to be around giroud's level - le cock's transfer policy always seems to favour competition rather than upgrading
Have not had a decent attack since RVP had his wonder season. Even then it was him carrying the entire load. If we have RVP from 4 years ago + Ozil and Sanchez it might be good.

Yeah. For one season. Until VanJudasCunt gets his standard injury and then parks his hole on the treatment table for the ensuing 18 months.
All this bollocks I read on here about how we bought Giroud to replace VanJudas. It's worse than that kiddies - we bought him (and kept Walcott) to replace Henry!
