The Whores do like a dive and a whine of course but to see Messi waving the imaginary card at the ref was sickening. As someone that has always said he is better than the diving ladyboy at Madrid partly because on top of being a better player he has has grit and character and doesn't dive or cheat, I was disgusted to see that. He went down in my estimation. If you are that good surely you can get through life without acting the cúnt?
Messi is and always was just as much a diving, cheating c unt as any of the "galacticos". The difference with messi is hes smarter and better at it. (Just like hes smarter and better at football than pretty much everyone else) When he goes down, he stays there, doesnt roll around or aknowlege anyone. He did a nice little triple salko on the edge of our box first half, then lay there stiff as a corpse. Gust of wind did it I think.
Sorry mate but that is absolute bollocks. I've watched most of the games he's played in and he gets lumps kicked out of him and he (mostly) just keeps going, shirks off the foul and tries to play through it. Now I'm not saying he has never dived but in comparison to other culprits there is no comparison.

Lets pretend than an Arsenal player grabs an opposition player by the arm as he tries to run for a pass, and he rightly gets a yellow for it - 15 minutes later an opposition player commits the same crime and even though a free kick is awarded, the player escapes a yellow card........would the AFC player be within his rights to look for the opposition player to be booked just as his team-mate had been ? Personally I'm not sure that I could blame the AFC player for looking for a yellow in that situation
No. Not for me. There used to be an unwritten rule, a "gentlemen's agreement", an understanding between players; you didn't dive, you didn't feign injury, you didn't try and get a fellow player booked or sent off. Now, there were always a few cúnts that did some or all of those things but the vast majority (at pro and amateur level) didn't pull that shit, they acted honorably by that "gentlemen's agreement".

But nowadays it's getting more and more acceptable to cheat, dive and act unsporting. Pundits talk of "simulation" or say "he won that penalty" when the player has clearly dived. Even the responses on here indicate this acceptance. Sorry, no. That's fucking cheating. This devaluing and demeaning of decency, sportsmanship and honesty are part of a general shift in the game that I despise. Add to it the millionaire 20 year old that has won fuck all, has a social media "presence" and a line of clothing. Add to it the JCL daytripper fans that arrive late, don't chant, take selfies and leave early. Add to it morons like Robbie Savage and Chris "look at me Daddy!!" Kamara getting paid to air their frankly fucking brain-dead views. Add to that the pimping of little no-mark clubs like the chav and citeh by bored billionaire cúnts that turns these nothing (often debt riddled) none entity clubs into players on the world stage despite having no history or pedigree.

But for me far worse than the media shite and the silly money for nothing wages, it's the fucking cheating and dishonesty.

Maybe I'm just old fashioned or naive. But I honestly think as players we all have a responsibility to be honest and try and win honestly. To surmise; modern football sucks balls. :x

Again I am with you on 99% of that BUT as a supporter and a player and a manager, I would get seriously pissed off if I see one of my players being treated differently than an opposition player - if a player of mine escapes what should be a yellow, then I would NEVER look for an opposition player to be booked when the tables are turned. However I will make no bones about it, if an opposition player puts in a seriously bad tackle or strikes one of my players, then I would have no qualms about demanding he be sent off - a decade ago I was manager of our local club team when one of my players had his leg broken in two places by a shocking tackle and it is a memory that will live with me forever :(

I agree maybe it's different in an extreme example if your player has his leg deliberately broken by a dirty fucker and the ref does nothing, But that's different to a bloke being lightly fouled (or diving) and then waving the imaginary card.

RE; The ankle/leg breaker (or "cúnt's tackle" as we called it in Dublin). It too used to be a part of that gentlemen's agreement. It was a no-no. You simply didn't go in to seriously injure someone. Yes, the game was rough but it was played by men. As you'll know augie - anyone that did put in a cúnt's tackle received retribution on the pitch.

Or on the way to their car afterwards.

If ever it was possible to forfeit a game, this would be it. Would be less embarrassing not to turn up

Agreed, we are going to get proper done over there, the could play their under 15s and we'd still be out.

On another note looking at our recent games it is obvious that our style of play demands technically excellent players and ever since Cazorla (and wilshere) have been missing from the centre of our midfield we lose a lot of possession all too easy.

Ramsey is not technically good enough to fulfill this role and now we are seeing how technically poor coq is.

We needed to change our game plan to make the most of players like Ramsey but we only play one way unfortunately.

For what it's worth I think Wilshere would have flourished this season what with Ozil playing his best football (up until recently) and I think he could pick out Sanchez with regulatory which would help immensely and help his form too.

Anyhow the season is over for us, out of the pl with you know who winning it, out of the CL and very shortly out of the FA cup and when I saw Wenger in his interview on ssn this morning he was smirking as if everything was going to plan, fuk it I sound as miserable as you lot :?
