Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Even Souness as outspoken as he is, isn't going to blame soley arsene. We've changed players umpteen times and we get the same results. Nobody wants to say it.Henry Norris 1913 wrote:"arsene wenger must be tearinghis hair out"
aye, he is the victim here, poor arsene, constantly being let down by his underachieving charge of prima donnas.
souness might know a thing or two about our insufficiencies on the pitch, but he ain't got a scooby about why we're shite in the first place. would love it if he just come out with it and said wenger has fucked up yet again
As for Winter and Lawrence, they'll be singing his praises after he wins a couple of games. Don't trust them one bit, to hold Arsene to account and say, 4th or 3rd isn't good enough for a club of Arsenal's status.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Just about to post this

Hopefully journalists, pundits and other ex-players start to wise up and tell it how it is. We know they won't though... back to back wins against Watford, WHam and Palace and Wenger is a genius once again

Didn't Merse say the same kinda strong stuff after 3-3 Anderlecht? Couple of home wins against weak oppo later, and he'd #Flip-Flopped again saying "be careful what you wish for"

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Apart from the perennial problem of injuries there is the perennial problem of the manager and the Arsenal playing style.
No matter who is available to him the manager will still try and play the same way.
Much has been talked about Coquelins abscence but creatively we have missed Cazorla yet we tried to play the same way but Ramsey of the same caliber despite his own insistance the down the middle is his best position .
The stubborn policy of forcing square pegs into round holes and refusing to pick a style that suits what players are available is one of the managers biggest faults and one that will never be cured .

Yes also major let down has been Ramseys total loss of form along with Sanchez, Wally just been missing for ages nowHerd wrote:Apart from the perennial problem of injuries there is the perennial problem of the manager and the Arsenal playing style.

This - as much as we'd all love pressure to be heaped on him, he'll 'get out of jail' once again after we dispatch some of the dross we're coming up against. 6-0, 5-1, 6-3, 8-2... all inexcusable and yet the bastard is still here. Cue headlines of 'What crisis?' and 'Arsenal bounce back'.Ikechukwu1 wrote:Didn't Merse say the same kinda strong stuff after 3-3 Anderlecht? Although if the scum actually win the league (and I can't believe I just typed that) surely even for 'Teflon-Don' Wenger it will be too much?

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
It wont because he does not understand the history of the rivalry, he will do what he usually does shrug his shoulders, and sprout off some utter crap, and waffle anout next season.

I think Wenger understands it, but he chooses not to acknowledge it anymore. With our current crop he's bred a bunch of choir boys. Theo 'Nice guy' Walcott, 'The Ox', Ramsey to name a few. Yes-men with no balls. The core fanbase however cannot possibly let it slidewilko49er wrote:It wont because he does not understand the history of the rivalry, he will do what he usually does shrug his shoulders, and sprout off some utter crap, and waffle anout next season.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Funnily enough, I heard Freddie Mercury's version of the Great Pretender today and some of the words just hit home regarding the myopic one.
"Oh yes, I'm the great pretender!
Pretending that I'm doing well."
"Adrift in a world of my own"
