What will £70M get you these days?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

All our lot could find in January to improve our threadbare squad was a guy who is not deemed better than captain pointsalot.

How many years has this "warchest" been mentioned now.

If he spends £70 million (net) I will cut off my bollox with a blunt spoon and eat them bushtucker trial style.
Your bollox are quite safe, 70 million will get at least 7.5per cent in a high yield account, that's where the money will stay for at least another decade until the old fool leaves the job in an oak box.

Rosie_titters wrote:A lot if spent wisely. If we spunk £50m like City did on Sterling than it is a waste. But to think Marhez cost a pittance at £400k and we could of had Javiar Hernandez for £10m.

It's the old bugger spending it is the worry. And he won't spend a 1/4 of that in the summer.
But any small signings get ridiculed, even though the likes of Mahrez only cost 400k from Ligue 2. Spending wisely and scouting well is what's needed, rather than spunking cash, but it also requires a bit of patience from fans that players take time to bed in. Look at Koscielny, 10m took a few months to settle but has since been class.

70M quid under that old *word censored*? Might as well give it all to charity.

We may be thinking about this incorrectly...

How many shares could we buy for £70M? Not enough to force TOF and Kroenke out, but it's a start... :rubchin:

More bullshit from the club.

Recently i read Wenger had £200m to spend apart from Ronaldo and Messi. We could sign anyone.

Now we are told Wenger now only has £70m. Where the fuck did that £130m go to.

No idea where you read Wenger had £200m to spend but it's clearly nonsense. I wouldn't believe it mate.
