THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The best medicine is just not to listen to the guy - he's a smug, patronising twat and has been that way for years. I honestly can't recall the last time I listened to him speak directly after a game whether we've won, drawn or lost. I'll be chuffed to bits if we win today but I certainly won't be listening to what he has to say, because it will be along the lines of "we still fight for 3 trophies, massively ambitious, consistency" etc etc. Why bother winding yourself up?

I prefer instead to read through the press conferences a day or two later and pick out some little gems like "captaincy is overplayed" or still my all time favourite......the two transfer markets !

He is so patronizing and it is aimed at Arsenal fans and yet some of those same fans will still defend him. It really beggars belief.

Unfortunately, Keown's personal loyalty to TOF totally blinds him to the obvious parallels. He said on 5Live just the other week that TOF is the best manager he ever played under :banghead: :suicide:

When people were still worshipping after that comment and the one where he famously rattled off the priority list of trophies and proudly declared qualifying for the CL as one, I really gave up any hope of him leaving the club any time soon. As Northbank has already said, he has a second rate degree from more than 40 years ago and the red top press seem to believe it elevates him to genius status and hang off his every word. The "two transfer markets - one external and one internal for the development of your young players" was proudly announced when Wally's contract was extended and he was out there searching for praise for his supposed development of top British youngsters......that got us a long way !

Just reading the BBC text stream in the build up to today's game:

Emmanuel Ayodele: Mixed reaction if Arsene Wenger leaves. Who is going to be a perfect replacement? Arsenal fans please mind what we wish for!

Lord Adam Murfet: Wenger will see his contract out - fans need to get on board. A cup is the minimum requirement but achievable. Get behind the team

If you page down though, the banner is there !

Still pissed at the Dion Dublin comments yesterday and then them asking the Toffees fans if they'd be satisfied with what we have, of course the :cussing: would they've had a dry spell since the mid 80's so 10 years of purgatory would be a blessing for them.

But give them 10 years of the said purgatory and see if they'd be happy then :banghead:

As for Dion Dublin's' who would you replace him with', right now i'd say Ranieri and Pocchetino would give him a run for his money (i'm not saying they're better or that we should have them), the new guy at BVB who's pretty much taken over from where Klopp left off and then improved them, Simeone considerably less resources than the big Spanish teams yet again doing as well as he can, Bilic at West Ham has massively improved them, that's just some of the managers who could probably do at least as well as Wenger with the resources available but of course no manager out there could do better or the same christ i'd even take Rafa :rubchin: :banghead:

Ramsey been spouting off about the banner ''To think that an Arsenal fan has taken the trouble to bring that to a game does shock me''

What might shock me is when this soft c*nt does his job well for a change.

Ramsey is another one of our players who really thinks he has nothing to prove, he is overpayed and overrated he should do his talking on the pitch and shut up criticising the fans.

Pretty much sums up the fear factor for 'Fans' and 'Board Members' and says what we've all known for a long time :banghead:

Ramsey would have to be a chief Wenger supporter given that he has stuck by him for 8 years and rewarded him beyond his wildest dreams despite one good season. If we signed Messi he'd rather play Ramsey out wide

I really do blame our fanbase. I swear it's the most delusional of any fanbase out there. The way they were creaming themselves over the welsh messi after that mini lampard run was nauseating and quite frankly embarrassing.
