Just saying hello/And who is the best manager AW v's AF

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Just saying hello/And who is the best manager AW v's AF

Post by stanthegunner »

Hello to everyone on this site
I would like to introduce myself
I am Stan
I was born in Woolwich in 1947
My Dad worked at the Woolwich Arsenal in the 1940 's and 1950 's
So guess who I grew up to support from the 1950's ?

My first trip to Highbury was to see Arsenal beat Spurs 2 to 1 in December 1961

I now live in Perth , Australia
But with the wonders of the internet and cable tv I can keep up with my favourite team

I have some Man U friends
Well someone has to be their friends

When discussing the merits of the best manager
Fergie or the lord Wenger
It is best to ask them which is the best record over the first 6 years of their management of Man U and Arsenal respectively

Season AF AW
1 11 3
2 2 1
3 11 2
4 13 2
5 6 2
6 2 1

The last 2 years we have finished 4th and you would think that the world was going to end

I wish that I could find out the two manager's net spending , but we all know that Fergie buys himself out of trouble

Also Fergie relies on having a good coach

Wenger is the coach

That is why he prefers to buy young players that he can develop
Instead of buying a player for 20 million quid that he then has to retrain

My prediction is that the team that AW is developing will dominate for the next ten years

welcome aboard stan. hop you are right about the next 10 years.

little tip for a newcomer. posts like this are better to post in the general chat section of the forum. further discussion tends to be led from the articles on the main part of the site, hence most of them are begun by me.

anyway. once again, good to have you along

Welcome on board Stan.

Good to have you here mate. I lived in Brisbane (or Bris-vegas as I believe it's now called) for 15 years as a kid in the 70's. Great country Australia.

Look forward to hearing more from you in the General Chat forum.
