Shocker today not sure what we have become?- Wenger's future should be in the hands of a member's vote

Surely there's no coming back from that....is there?
I didn't see anything different to numerous other matches, no tempo, no desire, no cohesion, comedy capers galore.
3rd home loss on the spin but still no more than mild booing ( I appreciate lots would have left before the end)
Same thing midweek, and v Everton then again v Watford to come I reckon.
Re: Watford (H) | FA Cup R6 | Sunday 13th March 13:30
With all the media coverage of the banner and his future being called in to doubt it was a perfect opportunity for the players to stick it to the critics and justify the managers faith in them. Quarter final of the cup at home to lesser opposition....time to say a big fuck you to everyone and we've got your back boss. As it it turned out (with a few exceptions) they couldn't look less bothered if they tried.StuartL wrote:silus wrote:The most noticeable thing for me today is that he has totally and utterly lost the dressing room.

Ah ok, I see and hope your faith is justified (in the end being nigh ) I think the players carry out his tactics, pass sideways, don't exhort yourself, no taking on players, no shooting, you can only score form a 10 man, one touch move etc etc Only Campbell for me today looked remotely like he wanted to be positive and attack the opposition properly.silus wrote:With all the media coverage of the banner and his future being called in to doubt it was a perfect opportunity for the players to stick it to the critics and justify the managers faith in them. In the end I just hope its for the greater good (the loss today, poor performance etc)

This whole situation is totally divisive.
Also its not "the situation" thats divisive........... Its Wenger mate. Its Wenger.
I have never argued that people should give up their season tickets because for me that has to be a personal decision. I have never claimed that pro wenger fans should boo or protest at any game. What I will continue to argue is that fans should have the courage to stand by their opinions - I really believe that there is now a majority of fans that want to start next season with a different manager, but I also believe that too many of them are deterred from voicing their disapproval for fear of a backlash like the guys at hull received, and that is what pisses me off. I would love to see some fans group organise a proper protest against the manager and chairman in the coming weeks, and I would absolutely bust a gut to get there - it kills me to sit here feeling powerless to put a stop to the regime which is suffocating the life out of my club

Btw thanks for your offer for a ticket to everton game, but sadly I am in Swansea next weekend with my eldest lad playing in an u-13 tournament with his league representative team (we are actually going to Swansea v villa game(

I agree about the need for a fan group to organise something the last of our group of 5 got of the fence today and agreed he shouldaugie wrote:armchair wrote:I agree with this. Maybe somewhere down the line you would be able to source an away ticket for me for a different game ? Cheeky I know, but I have never been to an away game and would love to enjoy the craic with the old school Gooners
go all around me in block 8 people agree as well, if only a fan group (the gooner?) would organise the production of banners/posters etc I'm sure that people would display them knowing they are not alone
i would be happy to pay for one and contribute to more and the production of more would kept the cost down
we have two weeks to the next home game to do organise something
i will not give up my season ticket because the waiting list is to long to get one once Wenker has gone

upset at the way the team is playing right now. no desire, charisma, character, complete lack of appeal. when we get the ball at the back as a fan you want to cheer the team on going forward but there is just no idea what to do, the ball just goes sideways and the tippy tappy shit starts happening.
Will continue to go to the games and support as I love this club so much, but the manager is holding us back now and its never been as clear as it is. we must make a change otherwise we will get left behind.

My last game was in 2009 after the humiliation in the CL semi final when Wenger said the priority at the start of every season was a top 4 finish. When a manager says that i thought why should i give the club £1000 plus when they have no intention of trying to win the premiership.I still watch our games down the pub but i dont pay a penny to Wengers wages and the clubs profits.g88ner wrote:
I actually think cancelling your season tickets and staying away is an acceptable form of protest, so no criticism from me for that. Vote with one's feet as they say. It would definitely work if the majority followed suit (which they won't - including me). That said, I'm much more in favour of a vocal protest.
I cant believe after all the shite Wenger has given us over the last decade that ST holders still renew do they think Wenger is going to change?
And we all know Wenger will pick his successor probably yes man Bould. The pain will never end.Never

Utter shite for 85mins - completely clueless. I don't know why we can't play with the urgency of the last 5mins earlier in the game

Not a fcuking hope that bould gets that job - wenger doesn't trust the man to take the training ffs

If 10,000 people give up their ST then there will be 10,000 in place next season who can't believe their luck.
People seem to have this impression that we aren't a massive club based in a major urban metropolis and one of the most obviously cash-rich supporter bases in the land.
Most risible argument doing the rounds. Some people have waited two decades for a ST, why should they give up the social side of going to the football because of some ill-fated attempt to oust Wenger? Won't ever work you numpties.

Exactly, this is what some of the provincial gooner's dont get. Arsenal is 10 mins from Central London. Can you imagine the number of tourists that come to London who think why don't we take in an EPL game whilst looking around the city. Sadly that is what football has become.Robin_L wrote:If 10,000 people give up their ST then there will be 10,000 in place next season who can't believe their luck.

That coupled with a very rich fanbase, who will gladly take our places. You can't beat the banter of going down the pub or having a bite to eat with fellow Gooners. Even going away in Europe is a great experience. I will definitely be looking to go away to a CL game at some point next year.
You get the feeling these people making the most noise are the sort that turn up 2 hours before the game on their own!

I actually agree with that tbh. But is there any need to call others "numpties"? Similarly, can we discuss this issue without slating or insulting people that won't give up their ST's. That is their right. There has been enough in-fighting between Gooners.Robin_L wrote:If 10,000 people give up their ST then there will be 10,000 in place next season who can't believe their luck.

Personally I don't fly over for games any more and won't until Wenger has gone (or my 10 year old son talks me into bringing him over). I don't honestly think my non-attendance will have any impact but I feel it's the right thing to do. Every flood starts with a drop or two as they say.
