The only thing that will stop me and my mates going to the Arsenal is football violence ... especially between our own "fans" ... throwback to the good old days of 70s/80s hooliganism.

Spot-on about the social aspect and the broader, larger fan-base.

Whether or not Wenger is now the best person for the job...he has contributed to Arsenal being the best club in the greatest city!

We all pays our money and have an opinion...but fighting ourselves...really

No offence but that is akin to Sheffield Wednesday claiming to be the best club in their city - that isn't, or shouldn't be the target for a club like ours. When we moved stadiums, we were told that we were doing so with the intention of becoming as big as the biggest clubs in Europe, but now you are comparing us to the shammers, Fulham and the scum  We have always been the biggest club in London so don't kid yourself that he is the reason for that
Just out of curiousity how do you define the "best club" ? We have only beaten the chavs a couple of times in competitive games in the last decade, and they have a far superior team to us even though current results don't reflect it - if you think that I am wrong on that, ask yourself which of our players would make their team and you will find that the max would be 3 or 4

Anyone physically fighting over a man who earns £8m a year to destroy a football team is rather ridiculous.

Like I said, we all pays our monies and all are entitled to our peaceful opinion.

I choose to follow Arsenal because I have for 40 odd years being a local boy and as all my London family do.

As Led Zep sing "good times, bad times know I've had my share" as an Arsenal fan, and a Londoner...but I choose to follow the club for a myriad of reasons.

Family, friends, love of the game, entertainment, love of sport, love of London etc...

I used to go to the old Underhill too - and it was a different type of experience but as enriching! Barnet the best borough club...Arsenal the best city club!...and I'd rather go to Arsenal than what I consider "nastier/more violent/historically racist" clubs...Spurs, Chelsea & WHU.

It's not about class, just being able to go the footie with a modicum of decorum.

What I don't get, is those that choose to follow the club to mask other problems like using it as an excuse for violence - that says to me they have deeper problems.

I understand that it was handbags yesterday...but the growing frustration needs to be put into perspective before someone does something stupid...

It's Arsenal not a Trump rally!

People seem to have this impression that we aren't a massive club based in a major urban metropolis and one of the most obviously cash-rich supporter bases in the land.

Most risible argument doing the rounds. Some people have waited two decades for a ST, why should they give up the social side of going to the football because of some ill-fated attempt to oust Wenger? Won't ever work you numpties.
Oh look, Robin L talking out his arse again, what else is new?

You don't think the club would be shell shocked at losing 10,000 ST holders? There is no guarantee they would be immediately replaced. Spare me the nonsense about people waiting two decades , people have been offered one after 2 seasons. The list isn't as big as people think it is.

Why should anyone do anything to change something? Let's all listen to Robin and just bend over and accept it, because nothing ever happens when you want to enact change. Let's all just have some drinks with our mates and wait for us to get knocked out of every cup competition. Thanks Robin! :barscarf:

this Robin guy is unbelievable.
no wonder the team has no fight in them when supporters come out with this kind of spineless drivel.

Come on guys, Robins right, the STs will sell, very surprised you cant see that one- we are a massive club, thats what AW et al rely on, the feckers. Over the years way more than 10,000 STS have been given up and replaced. The Bowls forever pretty near rammed- Like Manure if we were playing dire Villa tactics we may get a few who cant face it but I doubt it

1. Never before has there been a mass exodus of season tickets in one summer - I'm not saying that it will happen this summer (or even next summer) but what I am saying is that 10,000 season tickets packed in in the one season would cause a massive earthquake in the club

2. Those season tickets that have been filled before, will have been filled from people on the waiting list - that list is nowhere near as big as it once was. Last season I was contacted by the club telling me that I might be offered the chance to buy a season ticket last summer - I told them not to bother contacting me as long as wenger remained in charge. I was nowhere near the top of the list (think I was somewhere around the 10k mark) so a lot of fans must have turned them down before they got to me

I believe that filling season tickets will be very hard for the club to do in the future if their is a significant number of non renewals - for a while they might get away with that cos they will fill the seats with tourist type fans, but that wont work with games against the likes of hull, burnley, Bournemouth etc, and that is when the gaps in support will really show. Don't forget it was only last season (or early this season) that one of our games (cant remember who it was against) went on general sale - a club with 100,000 members and a supposedly massive season ticket waiting list, couldn't sell out for a match and had to offer seats to any fool who had nothing better to do on the night   People shouldn't ignore how big of a deal that one event was

Of course you are right that the club will be shocked, but firstly it simply aint going to happen and even if it did eventually they will fill the bowl all that season and beyond. The allocation to Thomas Cook travel would just go up :banghead: .

The threads gone a bit, but basically Rob keeps saying get rid of your ST. There are fans with STs for decades, Im not one of them, but if I was I would be well resented that BECAUSE of Wenger I am being told not to renew- pass my chance of FAC final  and keep sitting with mates Ive known for some years.

As if that really would cause Wenger to go- its very unlikely indeed, the ONLY way to to keep pouring scorn in whatever way possible, he is a vain arrogant stubbon man, and if its obvious that the fans have sussed him in their droves he will go.

To be uberhumiliated is the only way. Really sad.

its bad enough AKBs Vs WOBs, but to have St holders vs non ST holders as well- its not the answer, just causes fan unrest.

AFC know they have fans by the balls with tickets- so has to be another way.

To be honest I am always a bit sceptical about the whole giving up the ST debate.

For a start, some people are quick to paint themselves as martyrs when that's not the case. Nearly everybody who has given up their season ticket recently has done so because they no longer enjoy it enough and don't see it as worth the time and money. Which might be down to Wenger, but that doesn't mean it's a protest act. It's based on self-interest. Unless you are still desperate to keep stumping up well over a grand and giving up a tremendous amount of time to watch us fall short every year but have given up a ST solely as a protest, don't paint yourself as a martyr. And frankly unless that's the case then I'm not sure anybody should be lecturing other people about not giving up their ST.

Besides, the whole ST boycott thing is a bit of a fantasy. "Yeah but if everybody gave up their tickets..." - not going to happen. The issue isn't that people continue to go, it's that people are more likely to sit there in complete silence or even join in a timid chorus of TO1AW than show any form of completely justified dissent. The likes of United and Liverpool manage to put immense pressure on the board and manager despite selling out their ground. Wenger might be untouchable in his own mind but a ground full of people groaning, booing and chanting would not be ignored for long, it would place absolutely immense pressure on him and the club and in fact you can bet it would be met by typical condescending bollocks from him about how Joe Average isn't entitled to his opinion and would speed up his downfall.
