Ikechukwu1 - its ok I AM NOT FLIP FLOPPING!

I did state in CAPS at the end of the post that I did want Wenger still to leave at the end of this season :D

I just thought this was a better article than the pathetic arse licking crap we hear from Ian Wright and his merry men.
Basically this is what we (the hardcore anti Wenger brigade) are going to be up against in getting rid of the :censored:

no one is going to come on here and defend him anymore obviously, but clearly there is a debate going on at the moment and I thought that it might be useful to put this view up on here.

another worrying thing - Wenger is still as big as 40/1  to be the next Premier League manager to leave.
Alan Pardew who has just led his team to an FA Cup semi final is 16/1

Another good article from a football writer who thinks that Wenger should step down at the end of the season...

Alright bitches, keep your knickers on.

I have to agree though we need a clean break from everything Wenger and we need it ASAFP!! But we also need a new owner and Board. It's like a tumour - you have to cut out every bit of the bastard.

yes very good article.

the most annoying thing that I have heard in the past week is commentators saying that Wenger transformed Arsenal so that it was known around the world

WHAT A FUCKING JOKE.
I still maintain that our most successful period was in the 1930s (5 league titles in 8 seasons - which rather pisses on Wenger's attempt of 3 in 20)
The Arsenal became known as a famous English club from that era onwards. I do hate how history has been rewritten in the past few years :banghead:

Arsene Wenger is concerned that growing supporter unrest could force him into an early Arsenal exit — despite having the unequivocal backing of the club’s board.

The Frenchman, who has one year left on his deal after this season, will be allowed to mastermind his exit strategy but acrimony from Arsenal supporters means he could consider walking away after 20 years in north London.

Owner Stan Kroenke has given the beleaguered boss his full backing despite the team’s alarming slump in form. Arsenal are 11 points adrift of Leicester in the Premier League title race and were dumped out of the FA Cup at home by Watford on Sunday.

Sources insist Wenger is as determined as ever to continue, but increasing bitterness from supporters who once revered him has shaken the manager.

Wenger has always maintained he will leave when he no longer feels he is the right man for the job. And the behaviour of fans until the end of the season could be pivotal as English football’s longest-serving current boss ponders his future.

Surprise surprise, Kroenke is backing him. Happy with the financial windfalls and basically couldn't be bothered to try find somebody else.

Have never seen so many articles, respected journalists and pundits saying its time for Wenger to go.
All that lefts to be seen is whether Wenger will finally accept what is staring everyone in the face and announce a dignified exit at the end of the season. Or will he, for selfish reasons, insist on "just one more try" (dressed up as a dignified fulfilling of his contractual obligations), when every man and his dog can see that "one more try" is only going to make things worse, not better, and will leave the club in a worse state than if he were to step down this year - even if it means Arsenal must spend half a season or even a full season of a caretaker/stop-gap manager.

For his sake almost as much as Arsenal's, I hope he goes now, as if he stays another season and things go really bad - and can you really see this group of players under this manager producing anything else? - it would be a tragic end to 20 years with Arsenal. If Arsenal do squeeze into the top 4 as is their custom, it will be a fitting enough end, and he can still go out with his head held high rather than face the likelihood of taking the club out of the Champions League in his last season as manager next year. Things are pretty bad now, but they could get a hell of a lot worse if he insists on one more season.

We get a couple of wins in the PL and every one of those "journalists" will dig out their flip flops and talk of how we "have to thank Wenger for getting our title challenge back on track".

People are wisening up to Kroenke and realising that not every billionaire is the same. The guy is a leech. Abramovich bought Chelsea for the status of owning a successful, top English/European club and for a bit of fun as he doesn't know what to do with his ridiculous fortune. Not exactly what loyal fans want to hear, but vastly preferable the alternative: A disinterested billionaire investor - for whom making a fortune is not a means to an end but is the end in itself. A man who wants to make as much money as he can from his investment for as little risk as possible. For Kroenke, making a profit is "the game": He takes as much pleasure from seeing his investment gain 5% (or whatever) year on year as we do from a last minute winner against a rival. Money is his sport. Soccer, NBA and American football are just differently themed slot machines in the casino.

This year feels different to me. With all of the traditional top 4 falling away and the likelihood of Van Gaal leaving as well (and hopefully bringing Wenger with him), I don't see Wenger getting his usual rabbit out of a hat ride like he usually gets.

We will lose to Barcelona and also the Everton which will end our 'hopes' of the title.

Everton’s home form has been so sketchy that if we had any other manager I’d be confident of battering them.

We don’t though, we have Wenger; so expect Lukaku to muller us for a hattrick despite only having one shot on target.

We will, of course, be praised for our “commitment” and “desire” after the final whistle blows on a 4 – 1 defeat.
