Barca bumholing Wednesday 1945

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Are you going up for a pre-match "meeting" with the locals round the back of Liverpool Lime Street?

They can stay comfortably in 2nd gear (knowing they can up it a gear if need be) and not risk picking up silly injuries being inflicted by Coquelin or Gabriel going in 2 feet over the ball in some lame attempt to show "passion".

1-2 to The Whores. Or maybe 0-2 to the Whores. Who cares?

Meaningless game. :tumbleweed:
Disagree...probably the most important game of recent years because of all the differing repercussions off the field. A win secures wenger's place, a glorious defeat on goal difference, or an acceptably loss will keep the press off him till the end of season, a humiliating defeat would see the pressure from fans, press, and media reach magnitudes greater than the Jose at chavski.
Do you honestly think there will be any more than a couple days backlash in the media? We win against Everton and our "title challenge" is back on - that is how fickle the football media is. As for our fans??? Seriously? If getting destroyed and humiliated 8-2 by a pretty pedestrian Manure side could raise no more than a muted grumbling do you honestly think even a hiding at the hands of "the best team in the world" would raise more than a few mutterings, the odd rant and mostly excuses?

Honestly, it's a meaningless game in that we won't win and get through, the result will not change the status quo - it certainly won't have any impact on Wenger's tenure and we will all be here again this time next year in the same situation. Sad, but true. :|

We used to come out to the left by the Punch and Judy cafe which was always lively or straight over into St Georges Square before having a walk up the Scotty Road which had some interesting moments but the real place of action was the Everton Valley Estate where people would chuck there tellies of the flats at you ,yea those who have walked through the everton valley fear no evil !

Those days are long gone and Liverpool is a great place for a bevvie and has been for years.

There's a statue of Billy Fury at the Albert Dock that looks like Elvis Presley if that takes your fancy...

Barcelona's Brazilian full back Alves admits Arsenal have great quality in their squad but says they can be a soft touch compared to other teams who are not as good.

Alves said: "When the draw was made, we knew it could have been tougher for us. That is no reflection on the quality of Arsenal. The quality of the way they play the game and the quality of some of their players is there for all to see.

"It is a reflection on their experience, character, and mental strengths. There are teams in Europe that don't have the quality that Arsenal have, but you would rather avoid them and play Arsenal - because you know that those teams have experience and character.

You dirty ungrateful peasants had better get fully behind the team for this game and not spout your silly bile which hurts our precious little lovies.

This is where we will stand and be recognised as one of the giants of European footie, so be sure to hit that crescendo whilst belting out TOOAW, as we gloriously exit the end all be all, having valiantly won the leg 2-1. :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

tonight le clueless will play a full strength side and take the game really seriously with no thought of the more important game on Saturday.

it is the equivalent of taking the Community Shield seriously and then not being ready for our first league game of the season.
no one could be that stupid could they?
oh.........yes I remember now, this actually did happen as well........

Wenger, "we need to attack, that suits us". Yeah cause being 2-0 down is actually an advantage :banghead:

Anyone actually going to Barcelona for this? If so, you shall witness that rarest of things: a cricket score at a football match.

Enjoy! :barscarf:

A certain Herr Hitler would have enjoyed Wenger's company circa 1945; they could play Who Has The Biggest Delusional Mind.

AH: "We can still push the Russians back and make peace with the Western allies".

AW: "That's nothing, we can beat Barca by three clear goals and still win the title".

Got a £30 free bet from sky. Stuck it on Messi to score first @3/1. Sanchez is 16/1 says it all really.
