WALCOTT - which position is best etc?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I rate him highly - he is the best left back at the club :barscarf:
why are people having a go at him? I can't believe any proper supporter would turn on an Arsenal player like this.

10 years on and all Feo has to offer is hope and expectation. Couple of years from now, he will be months out form his 30th birthday and he will still be considered a wet behind the ears kid with much to learn.

i have made a similar point about Walcott on another thread this morning and I see you have identified some more players to sell.

you cant get rid of Djourou though, he is an excellent back up CB - a pity that Wenger didnt bring him on at half time to replace Vermaelen who was having a nightmare.
Oh Red, look what you've done now. I've spat my coffee all over the desk and we now have a leading candidate for Red's Greatest Quote Mark II

"You can't get rid of Djourou though, he is an excellent back up CB"

Great work fella :barscarf:
Didn't need to dig too hard for this one; and SteveO's already done the rest. :barscarf:

To be fair to Red; he did quickly reassess his opinion of Djourou, and came to the conclusion many of us with eyes had arrived at much earlier: that he was, in fact, complete pissballs.

He still comments on many of the homepage articles. I’m sure if the mods extended an olive branch to him he’d come back.

given the glowing reviews of these 2 Brazilians I thought that I would check out how their careers have developed after leaving Arsenal...

Denilson - now plays for Al Wahda FC in the UAE Arabian Gulf league

Santos - now plays for FC Goa in the Indian Super League

Denilson and Santos both applied to do their Reffing Badges but both proved to be too slow.

We all moan about the bad press Arsenal get and when one of our players get some good press there is moaning too

Like him or not Theo is one of ours - long may the press like him

Flash I would rather the press said nothing about him than give the guy undeserving praise cos there are far too many absolute fools who base their opinions on everything they read/hear in the press. The fact is that he knocked in 3 very good crosses last night (rvp should have scored from the 1st one) and I will credit him for that cos he has earned it but lets not get carried away about his ability here. Many of you that remember eddie mcgoldrick playing for us in the 90's absolutely hate the guy but watch the season review video and see how many assists the guy had that season so my point is that assists and stats only tell you part of the story and for me theo has neither the brains nor skill to be a top level player and if he wasnt english he wouldnt be getting the media love in that he currently enjoys
Will also add that the good press he is getting might also be down to the fact that the guy keeps putting himself out there publicity wise so that helps him too
