Ricardo Alvarez has ‘signed for Arsenal?????

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I know absolutely nothing about the guy so cant say if he is good enough or not but if our hitler *word censored* thinks he is good enough to make a genuine effort to sign him then surely you dont back off over 2m ? This typifies wenger and how the akb can expect this summer to be any different than previous summers is beyond me

Although I agree with the general point, in this case did he though? The report says 'Arsenal are thought to have only bid £9m.' No quotes, no source and no confirmation from anyone bar the mysterious 'Mr Wild Rumours' and his girlfriend 'Miss Reports'.

The lad looks an exciting talent tbh, was hoping he would be our "Hernandez" signing, ie hidden gem, but o well. It's a shame.

Based on what? :? :?
YouTube vids. 8)
I see where you are coming from though..the way he moves and handles the ball is easy on the eye.

Yes indeed you are  You should always precede these predictions with ''I have it on good authority'' then it doesn't matter when it all goes Pete Tong!!
I see you've learned from your Joe Cole prediction disaster.

I really hope this guy doesn't take the world by storm. Because if we lose out on someone who turns out to be a world class talent over a paltry fucking 2-3m* then I am going to be furious.

* Yes, it's paltry when we pay the highest ticket prices in the league, continue to sell players for more than we buy them for, are about to lose our captain and haven't won anything meaningful in 7 years.

I'd take a risk at this point gladly. It would give us something exciting to look forward to.

I don't know about you guys - and I'm not one to bitch about making transfers for the sake of making transfers - but it's hard not to be a little depressed watching Arsenal bob around like deadwood while United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Sp*rs and City are all making splashes.

Besides, I prefer the passion of a Argentine footballer over a Frenchman any day. A stereotype and an overgeneralization true, but one I'll stick with.

I would accept that point - we all complain about the need to buy proven quality players and that we cant afford to gamble on "maybe's" so we should not be focusing on players like jenkinson, ox and this argie guy who have never played in any top division in europe.
