What is wrong with our defence?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Dont get sensitive goalie.
You two keepers were arguing where balls are likely to go in diff scenarios.
I'm just saying you never know, relying on likely is no good
or 100% of the time the unlikely results in a goal

I've never trained as a keeper
but I know from watching (and even more from playing as its a much lower level)
that the unlikely happens quite a lot

I bet you are superfan - did you manage to get a window seat on the plane to Greece

And get it right - I'm a 'non-timer' these days

Fact is that Szczesny's positioning was wrong. Imo this contributed hugely to him first of all sucked out to a ball that he shouldn't necessarily be coming for, and secondly resulted in his being unable to backtrack enough and therefore missing it.

As usual you've nitpicked tiny bits of posts to do your best to ruin any coherent debate and hijack the thread. Well done JD.

no, never planned on doing Greece. I'll be working abroad.
Booked a 6th game Greece trip before thinking it would be a decider,
had fun in Athens but dead rubber games you never get the same atmosphere
hoped this would be one too.

Psyched for the draw, would love Celtic, Malaga or Galatasaray.
Thousands of us trainspotter types will be flying out
for a heavy days stat crunching and rosette comparing, might even add to my pin collection.

:D

Now that was funny !

Are you serious about wanting those scumbags Galatasaray? Honestly?

Celtic I get because whatever anyone thinks about the standards of Scottish football, an English team going up there is still a special occasion and a fantastic atmosphere.

Malaga? A bit shit club no history (but I suppose its a new venue and pin badge  )

Istanbul, Malaga and Glasgow are great cities to party in
and I think we'd win the ties, so yes, seriously
Who would you want us to draw?

(+an Eboue reunion would please so many posters here)

I'd be least happy with Barcelona - minimal chance of progress, no hope of getting a single favourable refereeing decision in the Nou Camp and just the bore factor of going through the whole sorry mess again

If we finish 2nd then from the point of view of likely further progress it would have to be either Porto or Malaga. Win the group which is unlikely, then I'd be hoping Cluj make it through, wouldn't be worried too much about Benfica or Celtic, or even PSG for that matter. Paris is my favourite city so if I picked a match I wanted to go to, it would be that one

Want us to avoid whoever comes through the Real/Dortmund group for obvious reasons, ditto the Juve/Shakhtar group and Bayern

It's not an opinion, it's you picking out a tiny little detail from a point and completely flogging it to death, as usual doing your best to ruin any sort of decent discussion on here. And then when finally you can't see any other angles in which to take your silly argument you typically post something like "chill out"

Never logical to argue over intrinsic rightness.

Clean sheet tonight please. Need the midfield 3 to continue improving.
May throw a quid or two at JW getting a goal.
