As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

It's all very well saying they hope alternative transport methods should be okay, but why don't they proactively try and help, instead of just shrugging their shoulders and hoping for the best?

I don't know where you'd have them pick people up from and it's likely to be as bad on the road as it is on the tube. Can't see how that would work.
If the strike goes ahead, it will be called off. I know it was two London clubs but the game against West Ham was cancelled for similar in December 2012.

How about London's major train stations, for starters? Even if it isn't particularly effective, it would at least show that the club is making an effort.

The difference is that was Boxing Day when no other public transport is running. Still think it should be called off mind
The game isn't getting called off and i'm jumping up and down about that because i don't fancy wasting over 150 quid on travel from Belfast and accomodation
AFC are so fucking useless. It was clear as soon as these strikes were announced that it was gonna be chaos but they put out communications that the game was gonna go on regardless, now if they decided to postpone it with a week or less to go they're gonna look fucking stupid. Plus will they reimburse fans who've already booked travel?
They are still saying its going ahead as John Cross has put in the mirror that the Club have said the game is going ahead and that fans should get to the ground in good time
"The RMT and TSSA unions have called a strike on the Tube which will affect services from 21:30 on Tuesday 11 February. Some services will operate between 07:00-23:00 on Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 February with last trains departing Central London from around 21:30. Check Live Travel News for updates "
"on the Tube strike…
The game will go on, that is for sure. We are sorry for our fans about the Tube strike because many people will have to walk there [to Emirates Stadium]. But we have improved the number of stewards and the safety and security of our fans should be guaranteed. Unfortunately these are not the best conditions to go into a game like that."
The strike is still on at time of posting.
TSSA union will not strike, so more stations should be open, but the RMT is a bigger union with a few drivers as welll as station staff so disruption will be significant.
