Not for me augster. He's an okayish to goodish player but we need to add some top quality up front.augie wrote: ↑Thu Mar 17, 2022 6:02 pmLeft field suggestion I know, but if rashford was going cheap I wouldnt be adverse to signing him - imo he may not be world class but he is certainly far better than he is showing this season, and given that we need to sign at least 2 strikers this summer (to replace auba, laca and nketieh), we wont be able to sign a bevy of world class strikers and need to be shrewd with our signings too.
Can I also say that I would only buy him to play in the centre forward position cos we have enough wingers

I understand that, but we wont have the finances to sign two top quality strikers (and upgrade centre midfield amongst others), so that factors into my thinking - one top quality striker and rashford for £25m-£30m would be good business imo. I should again add that I see him as a central striker instead of a winger where manure keep playing him

I believe Nketiah is going otherwise he might have started more often. Arteta seems to be a manager who won't start a young player who doesn't want to be around. Had he signed a contract he'd be starting in some games ahead of Lacazette.wibble wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 1:22 pmI’d also have no interest in coutinho. If Calvert-Lewin is too much, look across Stanley Park and check the status of Firmino. One of those front 3 will be missing out with Diaz arriving, and so far it's been the Brazilian. He'll fit right in with our style of play.
I think Coutinho will opt for permanent move to villa, so no need to get excited about him.
Would we be tempted to cherry pick from Chavs if they don't get sold? Havartz and Kovacic would fit right into our team.
A decent striker (or two) is clearly a priority but unsure who is likely to be available. We also have to bear in mind that we don’t want to ‘kill’ nketiahs development![]()
Saying that DCL made an instant impact when he came on for Everton tonight against Newcastle.
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Martinelli has again spoken and his comments indicate he has no desire to leave. Extending his contract at the end of the season looks like low hanging fruit given his desire to stay.
Although the collective media are doing their best to move him to Liverpool simply because Klopp has an irrational obsession with him. Why dont these media pricks counter these Klopp comments with Martinelli's comments about wanting to stay at Arsenal? Always looking to cause trouble.
You cant read any football site without seeing a Saka/Martinelli to Liverpool rumour. These dickheads think we are going to hand over both of them as long term Salah and Mane replacements. One real uppity Liverpool fan from 'The Liverpool Echo' thought Martinelli was 'auditioning' for Klopp with that performance. How do you even begin to reason with self aggrandizing behavior on that scale?

Remember when he wasn't playing Martinelli, even though we were all saying he should, it was only the Auba situation that gave him )Martinelli) the opportunity to prove himself and let's be fair he's done so in spades... Whereas every time NKetiah has played he has been 98% dogshyte.Nos89 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 18, 2022 12:24 amI believe Nketiah is going otherwise he might have started more often. Arteta; like the rest of us sees that, but uses him as a sub as we have literally no one else.
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Remember the reason why Arteta didn't start Martinelli? He stated he preferred to play for Brazil to qualify for the Olympics ahead of Arsenal and it's taken this long for Martinelli to gain Arteta's trust.OneBardGooner wrote: ↑Fri Mar 18, 2022 3:02 pmRemember when he wasn't playing Martinelli, even though we were all saying he should, it was only the Auba situation that gave him )Martinelli) the opportunity to prove himself and let's be fair he's done so in spades... In my opinion we could do a lot worse than take a look at Origi. It's clear that he isn't needed at Liverpool and since they signed Jota he's even more out of the picture
Maybe not the 'star' striker that we'd spend all our money on but remember we could be going into the Summer with NO strikers other than Balogun, which means we'd need to sign at least two.
I think Origi would be good as the second option and get a lot more game time than at Liverpool. At 26 years old he should be coming into his peak years too

Not too bad a shout Steveo. Whilst not the player I would normally look at we have to consider the position we could be in with no senior strikers. Fee shouldn't be too prohibitive to stop us buying a second striker that we need.SteveO 35 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 20, 2022 9:35 amhttps://www.footballinsider247.com/sour ... velopment/

Rashford and Origi is no improvement really on what we have .
Tammy was the signing we should have had .

Origi or Rashford ?

Btw, the great tammy abraham is doing it in a shit italian league - he was bog average in the premier league with the chavs, and it is noticeable how no big clubs came in for him when he was available
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
No big clubs came in for Tommy, Ramsdale or Odergaard either , just saying ....augie wrote: ↑Sun Mar 20, 2022 3:39 pmSteveO 35 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 20, 2022 9:35 amhttps://www.footballinsider247.com/sour ... velopment/

No-one heard of tommy, ramsdale was a keeper that kept getting relegated, and odeargod was a madrid reject at that time - abraham was with a successful club and was an engerland international and yet no big club were interested

But they seem to be decent signings so far; though concerned about Tomi's extended lay-off from 2 injuries.gooner265 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 20, 2022 5:36 pmNo big clubs came in for Tommy, Ramsdale or Odergaard either , just saying ....augie wrote: ↑Sun Mar 20, 2022 3:39 pmSteveO 35 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 20, 2022 9:35 amhttps://www.footballinsider247.com/sour ... velopment/

Shit italian league but he has scored loads compared with Laca / Auba , so you can't say he wouldn't be a improvement.gooner265 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 20, 2022 5:36 pmNo big clubs came in for Tommy, Ramsdale or Odergaard either , just saying ....augie wrote: ↑Sun Mar 20, 2022 3:39 pmSteveO 35 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 20, 2022 9:35 amhttps://www.footballinsider247.com/sour ... velopment/
