Re: other matches this weekend
£65m should have been spent on a striker. Literally zero idea why we have bought Havertz.
Re: other matches this weekend
that was a very poor effort from us. I thought it'd be interesting to see the 3 new players together but it made little difference. We definitely need a proper striker that's for sure. Until we can beat Utd we won't win the league. We lose to these c.unts far too often.

Jesus roaming everywhere but the box is fucking annoying.A11M11 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 22, 2023 11:32 pmOnce they sorted out Saka and Martinelli after about 15 minutes it was one way only . Please I dont care what we get for him, just sell Vieira .If Jesus doesnt want to be a centre forward and put himself about in their box then get someone who does .
So many things to worry about , both their goals were our mistakes and we never looked like getting one back .
We all have voiced opinions on various players but tonight showed those that just aren't up to it . Got to try Balogun next game because NKetiah confirmed all our fears .Not good enough .
It a preseason game but fuck that was worrying.

Agree with most of the posts / reviews on here about last nights game:
fFrstly; yes it is (meant to be) a "Friendly' but when 2 teams who have been Bitter Rivals for Decades (and the fans Hate each other) It cannot be considered a "Friendly" under any circumstances.
From what I saw we could just as easily have won the game; had we taken our chances.
The MancScum did what a number of teams did last season, within the first 20 minutes they completely nullified the threat of Saka and Martinelli..by double marking and of course by fouling them on a rotational basis any time they had the ball. It was was crystal clear to anyone with a pair of eyes that, that was what PeadoTen Haag had planned; know we have the better / more creative & dangerous players/team - He probably said something along the lines of" Okay, now remember this is a 'Friendly - The ref isn't going to Red Card anyone - So do whatever is necessary to stop their attacks... Kick them but don't break them... And the is exactly what they did.
We should have also employed the same tactics...Kick the fuckers off the ball - So either it turns into a 22 man Fight or the ref HAS TO treat it as a proper game and start punishing the dirty play.
Arteta needs to tell our players "If they kick you you kick the cun.ts back only Harder"...He also needs to decide either we are going to 'Win By Any Means' - Or play really attractive, attacking football and hope that : Our players don't get injured and we somehow secure a Win.
I don't know if Declan Rice has a nasty side (Most players do if pushed to it), but that was one of the things I liked about Caicedo. He reminded me of a young PV4; as in if they want a War we'll give the Cun.ts a fucking War !
It is obvious that Paedo Ten Haag will use the creative Forwards pace and skills to score the goals, but the lesser skilled players will just kick the opposition top pieces, because those were his tactics last night and we/ Arteta let him get away with it.
It's time we started using the Dark Arts as well, I don't mean just last night but throughout the coming Seasons, especially if we somehow manage to progress in the CL because the foreign teams are all well versed in niggling fouls designed to stop any flow in the oppositions game, falling over & rolling round like a bitch AND getting in the refs face at every opportunity, the MancScum are experts in that. I prefer we don't but that is how the game is now 'played'
Once they'd scored the second goal last night it was obvious it was Over and what tactics Paedo ten Haag was going to use to get the win, regardless of what we did .
oh! And btw That DayGlo Kit is So "WRONG" On So Many Levels...It is ABSOLUTE SHIT... A DISGRACE AND SHOULD BE PULLED... No doubt there will be thousands of brainless Dead Songs who have or will buy & wear it...
It is a Fucking Joke and simply Adds to what I see as a Weakness in our Armour (psychologically) to what was looking like a Very Promising Season into what turn into a fucking disaster; even allowing for the Excellent Purchase of new players (so far).
Nketiah and Vieira aren't even good enough for the Championship never mind the Prem.
if we don't stand up and start Fighting Back & Kicking the Opposition as well as Playing the Amazing Football we All Know We Can Play, things could once again end in us Wining Fuck-All.

Arrogance/cockiness in a keeper might be acceptable IF he can back it up with performances, but ramsdale still seems too shaky/prone to errors at times

The manager treating it as a must win is the fucking dickhead screaming at the officials and looking like a complete wanker on the sideline in the process.
We’ll have training sessions played at more intensity than this, 2 howlers led to the goals so be it.
We absolutely should leave one in on those c.unts though, Fernandez and Martinez are absolute scum, please let both of them have their careers ended this season.
This is the type of shit I was talking about last night

Allowing their players kick us because we are too nice only builds up the myth that they are tough guys and adds to the narrative that we are pussies - friendly or not, there are occasions when our players need to man the fcuk up and stand up for themselves, and fcuk all this queeensbury rules/its only a friendly bu!!shit
Re: other matches this weekend
Unless we change our ways the exact same thing will happen when we go to Old Trafford this season.
We've been beaten by this wretched team way too many times and we need to rid ourselves of the mental block we have against them.

That luminescent seasick canary yellow away shirt is a puke-making disgrace. Adidas' coked out flounces design team are taking the piss.

I like your posts Bob and agree with most of what you say, but take a look at the second post on page 1 of the Kai Havertz thread. I don't want to be underhand and I genuinely just happened across it by chance, because I was wondering what Arsenal Til I Die's opening shot about the signing was and then saw your post beneath it.
That's a quick change of mind after seeing one performance!

Fair point. I think on paper he should do a lot of the things we bought him for. I also think he should improve. But early signs don’t look good. I also wrongly assumed that Partey would go and we would buy a striker with the money. That doesn’t look likely now so I would have spent the Havertz money on a striker in retrospect. Havertz just looks a bit surplus in a system where we are playing Rice and Partey.Retro Gunner wrote: ↑Mon Jul 24, 2023 11:25 amBobbyPires7 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 22, 2023 11:46 pm£65m should have been spent on a striker. The signing baffles me on every level. Makes no sense why Arteta would think that he can alter the evidence of 3 years. I've read all the "he was played out of position", "the club has been a shit show for 3 years", "he was good at Leverkusen" and "other players have struggled at a club and then done well elsewhere", but he's had plenty of opportunities and nothing has ever made me think that there's a real talent lurking in there.
Loads of players are at crap clubs and played in a variety of positions, but their quality shines through and a big club buys them. Nothing has shined through bright enough with Havertz to outweigh 3 pony years in my opinion. Most shockingly of all, we paid £65m!!!
Btw, we absolutely need a proper striker, but I'm afraid that ain't happening. Captain Black has his system and doesn't seem to be the sort of bloke that changes things. That might mean admitting you were wrong and he doesn't do that. Wenger Mkll.
