🚨 Sassuolo reject a €40m bid from Arsenal for Gianluca Scamacca. The Italians want €50m. Reports, @Gazzetta_it. https://t.co/S7G1JlMjLX

Seems like the above will be a similar situation to the
Dušan Vlahović rumours during the Jan transfer window, where he had no intention of ever joining us ,his agent just using it to get a huge payday for him and his client
Never heard of him but he scored 16 goals last season, only 23, and looks like a brute.

As gooner265 said above, Italians rarely ever want to play outside of Italy, so file under Locatelli (with a side of Vlahović for good measure).

It amazes me how quick Arsenal supporters are so quick to drop Martinelli for a new signing on the wing, i.e. Gnabry. I still think we only need two top quality signings, one up front and one defensive midfield. Rice and Nunez would be outstanding signings. Although I was critical of Guendouzi because he wasn't showing what type of midfielder he would become, he has become the midfielder we need and think we've lost a good one there.
With the return of the loanees we're back up to the 25 quota.
Not me mate, I would take Martinelli over Gabri all day long.

Thing is even if the quota is restored to 25 - If some of them are shyte it still leaves us down. :?

At a minimum we need another central midfielder , two forwards and a left back they will say we have Eddie so that will be the one. Ok this Jesus will be fine but I hope that we don’t get led up the garden path like we did with the bloke in Jan .
In theory should be able to fill the other two positions .
We can then atleast challenge Spuds , manure , Newcastle for 4th . Sums it up really doesn’t it !!!!!

Other potential moves , Martinelli or Saka to Liverpool , well if mane goes they will come knocking .

Saliba supposedly giving alive interview on French TV to announce his future at 11am today

Make of that what you will, but he's become a bit of a media circus concerning his career. Awful mismanagement of on our part too

He'll probably end up at Real Madrid in a year or two to continue their CL domination.

Just saw a quote from him speaking as below....looks hopefull

William Saliba has confirmed he’ll return to Arsenal this season and is determined to show the club and supporters his ‘true face’.

Having impressed for Marseille during his year-long loan spell, there has been much speculation about what the 21-year-old will do next.

Despite Mikel Arteta making it clear he wants the defender back at the Emirates, plenty of reports have surfaced in recent weeks linking him with various big-name clubs.

His latest comments should kill off the speculation once and for all.

“I belong to Arsenal, I still have two years left,” he told Telefoot.

“I will be back with Arsenal. I have played zero matches and I still want to show them my true face and have the chance to play for these fans and this great club.

But that's not the way the business works - I believe pep's cone boy is a sneaky c.unt and he will still get him out this summer to bring in someone he wants instead. It will probably start around saliba's contract situation - the club will obviously want to protect themselves with a new longer contract for saliba, but unless saliba is stupid he wont sign a new contract for a manager who has shown zero interest in him, unless he see's a massive change in his status at AFC. That in my opinion will give pep's cone boy the opportunity he is looking for cos he will then be able to push the narrative of having to sell the player cos of his refusal to sign a new deal and that the club has to be financial smart ( ).

Well, realistically…. Yes!

Not for a second do I think it’s realistic that we’ll challenge Citeh and Liverpool for the title so challenging Chavs, United and scum for 3rd-6th positions again is almost certainly the most realistic target.

And then there’s Newcastle. One of the form teams since Eddie Howe took over and signed Bruno. Who knows what they’ll achieve if they spend well.

Maybe...who knows...But you seem to be making a few assumptions...like arteta has an agenda to get Saliba out this summer?
The Buisiness should work with playing your best players
Yes like you am wary of arteta.....but i for one would welcome Saliba to show us what he can bring to the team....his words are encouraging

Does that mean he is going to arrive for his first interview proper with AFC TV and suddenly turn around drop his duds and Moon the camera?

If we've got £150m budget why are we shopping around lower levels. Go out and buy one or two world class players that'll make a difference and raise the team like DB10 did. It's exactly what Liverpool did and paid dividends for them.

Newcastle are going to do what Chelsea did to us. Basically, wait until we go in for player then offer the club and player more money. Or we'll do what we did with city and sell them out best players.
