Another premier league footballer takes an injunction out

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Or that's just what they're telling you  Seriously, what is wrong with this place at the moment? 90% of women just want to date rich types? For fuck's sake. Any more sweeping generalisations we want to add to this thread? All aisians are terrorists? All Brazilian ladyboys are dwarfs?

90% is probably a bit of an exaggeration but there is a certain "class" of shallow women in modern society that want an easy ride off some rich bloke who'll buy them lots of shoes and leave them a big wedge in their will. Left to their own devices they just drown in debt depsite often having respectable jobs.

Fill your boots imo. More fool the blokes that fall for it.

More sweeping generalisations......

Truth is that we're all shallow as f*ck!

Most blokes are attracted by birds with big titties....... And most women are attracted by blokes with power and/or money! SHOCK HORROR! Think it's called human nature!

Indeed. Plus of course the case is all about privacy and whether something is in the public interest. A lot of the time I would say that someone cheating on his wife is not anyones business apart from the parties involved, however in this case we are talking about a man who has made a lot of money over the course of his career through advertising etc, a lot of which has been paid to him because of the fact that, as well as being a top class footballer, he also has the "family man" image that companies want to project. His clean cut image has made him a boat load of money over the years, so I think it is in the public interest to reveal that, at least recently (but probably before), it has been a lie
Agreed 100%. He has made a good part of his fortune selling himself as a decent honest moral family man, but turns out to be a lying cheating arsehole that has betrayed his wife.
Don't what to appear to be sticking up for the cheater, but I'm not sure that's true. :? It's not - as far as I'm aware, though kingjayson will no doubt let us know  - like he was doing adverts or appearing in those shite womens magazines every month bragging about how happy he was in his marriage, or espousing a certain lifestyle or in fact doing any sort of moralising?

Yes, certain sections of the sports industry have built him up to some god-like status, but primarily it's through his onfield achievements and thus Giggs has made his fortune by his talents and what he's produced on the pitch, not how he's acted off it.
Unfortunately you are wrong.

Giggs (like most other celebrity/sports stars) has an agent. That agent will have “shoppedâ€

Oh another thing that gets on my tits about the giggs/scholes/neville sycophancy is the "they're such loyal one club men".

Bit fucking easy to be loyal to one club when you're being showered in medals every year. :awnker:

Im not sure where i stand on this one. I think the phone hacking proved what scum the tabloids are. And will do almost anything to get a dirt story.

I agree about the whole "he's made his living off his clean cut image" point of view to an extent. But when i really think about it, the only reason im glad this story came out was because it was him. Lets be honest if it was say robbie keane or carlton cole, would anyone give a shit.

The main reason Im really glad his name came out was the way she got screwed.(pardon the pun  ). Ok yeah she was doing a bad thing and sleeping with a married man, but it wasnt her cheating, BUT because she couldnt afford or have the time to get an injuction out she's named and shamed as a marrige wrecker, while he sat at home thinking of who else to sue. I mean suing individuals on twitter   . Wrong move Giggsy, now you have been screwed harder than she ever could

Max clifford (*word censored*) reckons that if he hadnt have taken the injunction out then its probable that nobody would have found out. Not that you should believe a dicky bird of what max clifford says.

Anyway, the truly idiotic thing was naming imogen thomas in the injunction. I dont know if thats a legal requirement but the article i read gave me the impression it wasnt. Woman scorned, hell hath no fury etc

I agree with the rest but she didnt name him, she legally can't. They had an affair for 6 months. The tabloids caught on. He took out an injunction behind her back and named her in it. He could have protected both their names if he'd consulted her before taking it out like the other footballer and his shag have. The first she knew of it being public is when there's press after her because she's just been named in a court paper .

Not sure she did anything wrong to be fair. From the sound of it she was single and I'm sure he will have told her all about his wife that "didn't understand him" etc.

She certainly did less of a bad thing than, say, the horse like thing that married Prince Charles - and she will one day be Queen FFS......

He was probably hanging out the back of James Law's missus the night before he signed the contract.
