So walnut is having another absolute 'mare eh ?
Against a full back that was classed as 3rd choice with us up until a couple of months ago
Not surprising that it was arshavin subbed though - gone as lazy as fcuk but at least has the intelligence to create a goal for rvp with what was supposed to be a great pass where as braindead walnut is pants

No argument there, walcott's "finish" today was woeful. I think he looked to have the ability. He wasn't the most technically gifted but as a striker you don't have to be. He knew how to play on the shoulder and had the pace to get in behind and finish. The last five years playing right wing it's almost as though he's lost all confidence and self belief to be able to do that.Demun210 wrote:I take your point, although Walcott did play a good few games on the wing with Southampton, but yeah I see what you are saying. But your post was directed at Wenger and we both know that Walcott should have done better with that opportunity no matter what team/position he was playing in. I'm actually not sure Walcott was the great potential he was hyped up to be...I dont think he is technically good enough to be a "top" player whether he was playing through the middle or on the wing.worthing_gooner wrote:He was an instinctive striker at Southampton. At Arsenal Wenger basically coached most of his confidence out of him playing him on the right wing.Demun210 wrote:You're reaching there, give it a rest. If Walcott cant do better with a chance like that, it has nothing to do with Wenger.worthing_gooner wrote:Feel for Walcott. Not good enough to ever play at the top level thanks to Wenger.
It's like United signing Rooney and playing him right wing for the last five years.
I'm not saying he shouldn't have done better with that chance, but we had a top youngster on our hands when we signed him and now he's average. To me that's Wenger's fault because he's being mismanaged.
The same thing is happening with Ox as we speak. Any confidence he has is being demolished because players like Chamakh and Arshavin are playing ahead of him consistently even though they're shit.
I do think he would do well played upfront in a 4-4-2 but that'll never happen at Arsenal.
