Not expecting it to be as bad as last season but still a comfortable win for them in all likelyhood. The only way we'll win is if we take the lead with virtually the last kick of the match. We were shitting ourselves after we scored at home against 10 man bottom of the table QPR so imagine the psychology of trying to hold on to the lead up there (no doubt there would be a substitution along the lines of Djourou for Cazorla to make us more solid).

I said we'd scored too early against QPR and I wasn't joking. I knew we would gift them at least one chance to equalise but it was generous even by our standards to gift them two golden opportunities.

Will it be another 'irrelevant' thrashing given that our big game of the week is against Schalke :D

Would be great to see Wilshere and Santi bossing that midfield Saturday, I saw the QPR game and Wilshere looked sharp, he was linking up well with all the players, he needs a couple more games before he's match fit but I would run the risk and start him as he will be fired up for this game. The Bac being back is also a massive boost!! May need to play Verm on the left, kozza and mert in the middle. Dont trust Santos one bit....

Truth is, if we start well and get the first goal I reckon we will beat them. Confidence will instantly be instilled. The team will start believing, but if Manure start strong and get into their rythym early then we will be in trouble.

Expect a fight this time round though, Arsenal to win 2 x 1, Walcott to get the winner :barscarf:

Again i have to ask what is this thing called a title race,i remember about 8 years or so ago you could use the words title race in the same sentence as arsenal but now is it not just mythical stuff.

Win, lose or draw... there'll be no title race for us, I'm afraid.

Looks to me like the top 3 (chavs, manure, citeh) are going to break away, leaving us and Sp*rs (+ Everton and Liverpool, perhaps) going for 4th.

The top 3 have got way too much for us to compete with them over 9 months (in fact, we were already way adrift by mid-October  ... again! )

Could cause an upset on Saturday though, I reckon... maybe.

3-2 to The Arsenal in a season defining match for us, which will lead to us going on a long run unbeaten in the League, and with some good fortune with injuries will lead to a PL trophy.

You read it here first 8)

Arsenal to win a PL trophy? :rubchin:

Poet Laureate? - Well, with the despair and hopelessness that comes with supporting Arsenal, you can't argue there's enough material to work with. More chance of that than a Premier League title, I reckon :(

(would also give Diaby, Squillaci and Chamkah something to focus on...)

What's wrong with what Vinny said - if we win we'll have a genuine chance of winning the fifth trophy that we created at the AGM. Little details like calling it the PL Trophy need not get in the way......

Ah I would be an optimist Gooner

I think this team is developing and learning to play with each other. Looking at Norwich and Schalke was like watching a different team than the one who was playing so well and had got better since the start of the season.
For all the doom merchants about our defense we have conceded less than any other team in the PL all the time playing with 40 % of our first choice back 5.
I think if our midfield clicks we have a great opportunity to compete. JW, Art, Caz and Abou on their day are top class and could over run any midfield out there. Our one area of weakness I see is upfront and that can be strengthened in January. If our mid clicks and we can score from elsewhere I see no reason why not.

Am really liking the potential in this team but I think a team has to learn how to play together and we are stil in that process, as witnessed by the debacle in our last two games. Have a feeling we will be really up for this fixture and the timing of the fixture is good as if we can get a win our confidence will soar.

I would love not to concede one frakkin goal in this match, even if it would mean a 0-0 draw. But if our strike force and click for this and we win without conceding, what a frakkin glorious day it would be!

I'm still over the moon with tonight's win but lets get serious - if United played their U-17s they'd still score at least a couple :D

Its all about the League Cup and the FA Cup now. Rest everyone for the United game, and Schalke and concentrate on the League Cup quarter-final........

.......lights match.......walks away :D

9 - 6 to us. Bagsy we win the Old Trafford, early November, kind of trophy-cup.

(Edit - get that herd of goats ready for a mass sacrifice)
