FIFA bribery arrests/Blatter Resigns!!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

My impression of John Delaney is that he's a bit like Greg Dyke. In as much as, get him in a bar, ply him with drinks and he could end up letting all sorts of shit and piss spill.

Fucking despise John Delaney, how can the Chief executive of the FAI receive more money than the LOI winners :banghead: He has shown an utter contempt towards the LOI in his time in charge. As Paul Ashworth would say, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvRYr2pEqpM

I like john Delaney 8)

I, in my previous capacity as league secretary, had the "privilege" of attending a Leinster Football Association many moons ago - you would not believe how many old farts in blazers strut around like they are gods  The old crunts that ran the Dublin leagues at that time were nothing short of obnoxious w*nkers who thought looked down their noses at the representatives of the other leagues  John Delaney is the very opposite of those c.unts - he appears down to earth and has mixed and socialised with the "common fans" in the past and has travelled to away games on the trains with the fans. I'm not saying that makes his cv outstanding or anything, but we all complain about how football is so far detatched from the proper fans so it pleases me that he is more aware of the plight of the football fans. He was also guest speaker at our league awards night a few years back and I really enjoyed listening to him speak about the game and the constant competition we have with the other sports 8)
I didn't enjoy the victim mentality and the crying over "that handball" but unless he actually asked for the payoff then I'm not sure how he is wrong in this fiasco cos it was going nowhere anyway

Btw the LOI is utter shit and will always be utter shit - any good young prospects continue to leave the country is search of a pro career (and so they should 8) ) and all we are left with is mediocre players and has beens, playing in shit facilities  The attendances are the majority of clubs is woeful - some will argue that fans wont turn up to watch games in shit facilities but that brings up the old question whether the chicken or egg comes first (no jokes necessary) because nobody will spend or get grants for clubs with little support

Cant really compare them tbf - Ashley is aloof from the fans and has trousered a load of money instead of investing in the team, whilst Delaney is running what is still an amateur organisation.

Augie the league is a shambles, but the FAI and John Delaney are the ones running it, and it is quite clear that those running the league don't care about it. There can be zero justification for Delaney earning more than the league winners. It was the FAI'S decision to take on the running of the league, and have done little to attempt to improve things.

Don't think the good old USA will be doing football any good here fella's.
What the USA needs is coin and they are scouring the world for slush funds .
FIFA has Billions but the USA will impose mahooosive fines that will cripple FIFA and that's just the start .
They will turn over the whole of football and it wont be pretty .
Blatter is fucked but with the ludicrous one sided treaties that the USA has with many countries your sovereignty is fooked and they can turn up anywhere !
Next stop the IOC !

Sounds like someone who has their underwear in a bunch that the USA has now surpassed England in world football. Sorry it's not 1980 anymore.

Because I support Arsenal? :rubchin: :rubchin: :rubchin:

I've been to plenty of matches over the past 5 years, all over as well. Stoke, Orient, Munich, Barcelona away among others.
