They don't, they have lost faith in the manager but he is too deluded to see it.Glitch33 wrote:Simple question is why would any of our decent players want to stay?
As annoying as it would be to lose him or Cesc I would understand, let it be clear though that I would not understand the Bendtner's or Denilson's who are disillusioned as they are part of the problem with the manager who selects them.
Nasri and Cesc would get my blessing because they are worth better than this.
Jack will be next, sad but true.

Former Arsenal striker Perry Groves says keeping Samir Nasri is more important than Cesc Fabregas.
Both players are being linked with moves away this summer.
Groves told talkSPORT: “I actually think he’s more important now than Cesc Fabregas for Arsenal’s future.
“If Cesc wants to go to Barcelona because he has that calling and he’s not 100 per cent committed, as long as Arsenal get the right money for him, whether it’s £40m or £50m they can then go and buy the centre-half and the combative midfield player they need.
“Samir Nasri was brilliant at the start of the season when him and Jack Wilshere were the two main players. I think he had 10 or 11 goals before Christmas.
“And then when Cesc Fabregas came back in the team he played him left of the three or right of the three and he wasn’t as influential.
“His contract has only got one season left so he now will want to go on to be one of the highest earners on the wage structure and I think he’ll want guarantees of where he’ll play so there is a little bit of brinkmanship going on.â€

Russian and Ukranian should be capitalised. I await my pint.mikeyb772001 wrote:augie wrote: I have said for the past 2 months that I am more convined that nasri will leave this summer than I am that cesc will leave. We have seen enough evidence in the past that when a player with us runs his contract down within one year of its expiration than odds on he is gonna leave but on most of those occasions the fool that is wenger kept with his blind faith nothing new there ) that said player (or should that be said french player) would sign a new deal and then just allowed them to walk away on a free instead of selling him with 12 months remaining
Personally I believe we should make him a final contract offer (not 110k per week though) and tell him to sign it or be sold this summer - the situation is ours to control and rather than allowing him to walk away for free we should try and make as much money for him as possible whilst being mindful of not selling him to a club where it can end up biting us on the arse. In other words sell him to a russian/ukranian or some other shithole club in a shithole country where he freeze his bollocks off for the next few years. If he refuses to leave to the club that bids the most money then he should be stuck into the reserves for the next 12 months to stagnate there and we will see then how many big clubs will chase his signiture then.......out of sight out of mind
All that being said I dont blame nasri or any of our top players for wanting to leave - I said last summer when talking about cesc, that the thing that seperates the very best players from the rest is the ambition to actually win trophies and even stevie wonder can see that with this board, with this frugal policy and most of all with this outdated gobshite manager we will not see the club winning trophies in the foreseeable future Some fans might choose to believe wenger when he says that success is only around the corner but the players who work with him every single day can see that as the bullshit that it is and if the players dont believe in wenger's ways anymore then what is the point in keeping him ? Surely in every league, but especially in the english league, teams need to have a solidarity that sees them all pulling in the one direction if they are to achieve success ?
As long as our top players continue to leave, even if it is only 1 top player per season, then this team and club will continue to be in rebuilding mode and I believe that we the fans will rue the missed opportunity to increase the pressure on wenger by pointing the finger at him in those protest marches for a long time to come...........wenger in charge = no more trophies
now if anyone can find fault in that i will buy u a pint

from TheGuardian this morning:
Samir Nasri wants to see Arsène Wenger make a serious impact on the summer transfer market before he considers committing his future to Arsenal.
The France midfielder is at impasse over his new contract talks, having deemed the club's offer of around £90,000 a week, which has been on the table for some weeks, to be insufficient. The stand‑off has led to angst and frustration at the club.
But while Nasri wants more money, he is equally keen to see Wenger add big names to a squad that fell apart when the trophies beckoned at the business end of this past season. Nasri, whose own fine form slumped in the final months, is similar to many of the club's supporters in the respect that he feels Wenger has to buy some proven talent.
Nasri has entered the final 12 months of his contract and, while it has been unfortunate that Arsenal have allowed the situation to develop, it is worrying that the 23‑year‑old has now spoken of the interest in him from Manchester United, who are in the market for a creative midfielder following the retirement of Paul Scholes. It could be that Nasri is using United as a bargaining chip. Wenger, though, has made it clear that he would not contemplate selling the player to the Old Trafford club.

Who the fuck is this bottlejob to complain about us falling apart when the going gets tough? Where was this little *word censored* during the CC final or for the rest of the season? Get your own house in order, turn in year-in-year-out consistency like cesc has and you have a right to complain about our lack of ambition and the dross in our squad.
Having said that, (as Arseblog says) i am fairly sure this is just an effort from him and his agent to defelct attention away from the fact they are a pair of greedy, money grabbing *word censored*.

Oh ok. Sorry samir, clearly your not a money-grabbing overrated inconsistent *word censored* bag and its just pure coincidence that you're not signing up for your measly 90k a week that has been on the table for months now.piresistible wrote:calm down Dear. cant you see the article is wrriten to generate an angry response from youLDB wrote:This angers me so much i cant even see straight.OneBardGooner wrote:from TheGuardian this morning:

My feeling is that this is the best of times, it is the worst of times, it is the age of wisdom, it is the age of foolishness, it is the epoch of belief, it is the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us.
Anyway, that's my thoughts on the Nasri situation
