As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
I went off Charlie Nicholas after his first season with us, for his lack of effort .
Fluked some goals (League cup final, trickle going nowhere before it deflected in) and thought he was better than he was.
To be fair on tv he appears to still hold a soft spot for us which is quite suprising - seeing how George only gave him a 1 year extention after the league cup final win.

Agree with this, except I couldn't stand him from day 1, lazy and a bottlejob.

Very Harsh. I really did like the guy at the time. but in all honesty I didnt know as much about football as i do now. I was in primary school when he was a gooner. But your not the 1st person to say this.

He was doomed from the moment they had him running out last for the first game against Luton. That sort of cheap hype is not Arsenal. As far as I recall (from reading books, I'm not THAT old ) he didn't score from open play at Highbury for five months. Am I right?
I admit I never saw the funny side of the 'Milky Bar ****' vilification after the high point of last season, knocking Spurs out of the League Cup. Oh how they danced!
However, time has moved on and while my critics may still bask in the glory of that night, we are all too well aware that the campaign spiralled downwards, out of control, after that memorable zenith.
Our love for The Arsenal may be unconditional, but love carries expectation, I just expect more, both on and off the pitch.

He used to get injured alot pulling out of tackles... ..... and not much has changed there really...

I never rated Gilles Grimandi in the slightest
I think that would be quite a popular opinion.
Really? I would guesstimate that most 'old-school' gooners - except Percy, but we all know he's nuts!! - know exactly where he is coming from and agree with Wrighty (except for the last bit, where admittedly he has gone a little over-board )
