Who was our biggest creative influence yesterday? Would say it was Ade or Nasri. Ade can be greedy but he does set up others and cause havoc for opposition defenders.

Yet if Henry was a great striker, why didn't he, in a greater (right now) side, in what was possibiliy weaker league manage only 30 goals? If Henry is a legend then shouldn't he do at least as well as Drogba and Eto, players who you say would score nearer 50 in this side so shouldn't Henry have got 50? We created a lot more chances back then then we do now

Now if it was a decade difference rather then three or four years, I wouldn't be asking this. Ian Wright was at his peak under a different manager in a different time, same with all those before yet Henry and Ade share the same manager with the same philosophy, slightly altered to be more to each strikers strength. I agree comparison tends to be useless and the two are different types of players yet both are/were the main striker in teams that created loads of chances

I think you're missing the point with goalscoring. In Henry's time we had several players who chipped in with a lot of goals - Pires scoring around 20, Freddie getting 12-15 etc etc. That was always going to reduce Titi's total as he pulled wide so often to turn provider. In this Arsenal team the midfield doesn't score many goals at all apart from Cesc's little burst.
Ade needs a good 6 chances to score one, he is CONSTANTLY, not occasionally, CONSTANTLY offside and shows very little common sense in that area. I still maintain that any decent striker could score 20+ in this Arsenal team. Adebayor is a decent striker, nothing more - to try to qualify how good he is by saying he works hard is laughable, Robbie Savage works hard..........I rest my case.
Sad fact is, Ade is a good support striker, not a main striker and we will suffer whilst he is no. 1.

Against WBA I thought Djourou, Clichy, Sagna, Denilson and Nasri played well. The worst two players for us were Adebayor and Walcott - and I have to say, Walcott continues to fail to impress, put him on for 15 mins and he looks very good! I though Eboue also did 'ok' . :)

He says a few quick prayers as he is a muslim, as are a number of his new team-mates at the club. Several hours later at a major London tube station a man in an Arsenal shirt walks past me up an escalator and as he passes a young muslim woman wearing a headscarf he turns round and verbally abuses her as he carries on up. Totally out of the blue and unprovoked, telling her to "fuck off!" several times. She retorts by making a very good point about how 'brave' he is given his size in comparison to hers and I stand there hoping that he isn't waiting for her at the top. What probably sums up this idiot best is that he had 'Legend in the making / 14' on the back of his shirt. Talk about not having a fucking clue about anything! Anyway, this was the only downside to an enjoyable day spend at the Arsenal.
Richard Keyes made some odd remarks about Nasri, who was praying at half time.

Richard Keyes was like"Why is he in a world of his own, what is he doing? 123 you're back in the room" etc.

I just think Richard Keyes did nto realise what Nasri was doing, but it was kinda obvious even if you are not Muslim.

As for Ade..his main asset is hs workrate..that is one thing he cannot be criticised for, though yesterday he did have a sluggish game.

I never believed for a minute he wanted to leave the club this summer, it was just his agent playing silly games to get a wage rise.

Although his shooting was woeful, atleast Eboue was actually shooting from outside the box, which is more than can be said for others, content to play the passing game on the oppositions 18 yard line.

Yes more scorers in that team, partly because whereas the likes of Hleb tend to create, Ljunberg's trick was to run into the box onto passes and score. Pires got into the box more then our midfield does, Gilberto was a set peice threat, so and so on. Henry however wasn't denied by them, he had one of the best passers in the world behind him and a midfield that clicked, they created tons of changes for him. More then our team does and you might not notice but Ade does pull wide as well and try to set others up.

Ade does need loads of chances to score, so did Henry. Henry and Ade thrived because they caused defenses so much havoc that they can get those chances, neither are exactly clinical but then, how many chances does Dudu get? One a game? Two?

It is not a fact that Ade isn't good enough to be a lead striker, it is an opinion. He may be no Eduardo but then, we would get one chance a game if Dudu was our first choice and if he missed that, we are doomed. Ade opens defenses up and gets goals, of course working hard is a minum expectation but some think Ade, like they thought of Henry, doesn't work hard which I think is harsh.
