Re: WELL DONE ARSENE!
to an extent i agree with u gus, but to be honest the 'fans' that are booing are the jolly come latelys of the support, who have been extremely lucky to see the type of football we have experienced over the last decade or so.
im not old enough to remember much of our football in the 70s and 80s, but some of my mates who are old enough remember it was pretty piss poor to say the least, plus we had numerous shit players i.e. heaney, hillier, mcgoldrick who didnt get nearly as much grief as ade, eboue, gallas, toure who are twice the athletes and players they were.
i think wenger has a point - i for one prefer to get behind the team rather than against it, and whether it was the booing or the half time team talk against everton that made us come out a different side, it worked.
i always thought we were a club that got behind our players, and not boo them like the likes of the monkeys down the road, and we are lucky to have the likes of the talent we do.
yes there are deficiences, and yes wenger ahs made some big mistakes in recent years, but i believe he will win us trophies again. i also sometimes cant believe some of the stuff people write on here about how they hate players and think they are shit - i know everyone is entitled to their opinion and it does make any debates (which are becoming rarer by the day) more interesting than the communal agreeing we get on motd, but there appears to be too much hatred towards our team and players these days. i just hope wenger can use it to get his players to play better.

maybe we're not very good at producing a good atmosphere in the stadium, but we are absolutely brilliant at moaning and whinging about the team and the clubs staff at every opportunity we get.
The atmosphere at the Emirates is very poor at times, and the manager is entitled to mention it.
He is right that the team needs more support and he is right to bring it up.
"oh but we haven't won anything for a week and it's all the mistake of the *word censored* that brought us success like we've never known it before". Get over yourself.

The atomosphere at AG is crap and it was like that at the Library as well.Arsene should also have had a go at the late arrivals and early leavers.
The reason is the majority of fans who come to watch the home games are the Johnny come lately"s brought up watching football on Sky who wouldnt make any noise if you put a gun to their heads.
The club loves this type of fan because they have money. To them going to Arsenal is a day out and nothing to do with the football.

the atmosphere is sometimes terrble, and quite frankly embarrasing. I sit in block 24 next to the away fans.
It seem to me its the club that wont let us do anything about it. Most have complained about The wonder of you...clubs response is to put the words up !!!!.give something to sing as the players come out...what wrong with good old Arsenal??..stewards constantly telling us to sit down as they stand with there back to 3000 standing away supporters..
I am sure Redaction have come up with SOME ideas but they must have been ignored because it hasnt improved. I have put posts on before about atmosphere...even been asked if i would like to help Redaction so i gave them my email address...2 months ago and have heard nothing from them!!!!, so they must feel they are doing ok.
Ask US what we want Arsenal and we will improve the atmosphere...but dont slag us off in the papers

in my opinion he waited for too long, i think he should speak out what he thinks.
People only see how lucky they where when its gone.
We have a 5 star team, 1 star supporters.[/b]
So wenger, whose wages we pay, has a right to speak out if he see's something that he dont like yet we the paying public do not ?? Once upon a time the fans felt that they were a vital part of the club and that their support was greatly appreciated but nowadays all we are is a cash cow for the club to milk where the players show no loyalty or appreciation. The athmosphere died at home matches for clubs all throughout the country with the advent of all seater stadia and over vigorous stewarding and of course the need for clubs to sell their souls to the corporates. It is all well and good bemoaning the lack of atmosphere (and I for one am sick of it) but nobody is willing to do what is really necessary to rectify it and if the club wanted to improve it then they would talk to genuine fans instead of redaction who are happy to be in bed with the club rather than actually acheive anything important.
By the way where is this 5 star team that you boldly talk about ? It wasnt at fulham, it didnt turn up against hull and it sure as hell didnt travel up to sunderland. Some fans think that making ridiculous statements like that shows how much you support the team when in reality it only makes it appear that you dont really know what you are talking about

Gus I did follow the message in your thread where you were having a pop at wenger for having a go at us fans publicly and not at what he was saying so dont think I have gone off course but some things said since need responding to

Just got up to speed on what was said myself, and reading it, Wenger's words seemed to grate. As if he almost feels greatly distrustful of fans. He could definitely have found another way of voicing his concerns about atmosphere - doing it this way he has just given the media something to run with.
In saying that, what he said isn't entirely correct. Not being a local I can't speak with too much experience, but is it not the club who also need to take some responsibility for the poor atmosphere?
