Jermaine Defoe Anybody ?

Im sorry you took umbrage at my comments! The fact is all I said really was I dont like his character and attitude! This was largely based on watching him several times and the tizzy fits he has thrown when being subbed.

My comment on not replying on football terms was aimed at why you thought he would be great signing for us but cant cut it at the spuds?

Anyhow moving on from that hes not the answer and I would be disappointed if he signed.

I think Anelka has more class than him even tho he aint the greatest personality either!

I'll CHIP in if i may.........Defoe can't get a game down the road, but in a real passing attacking side like ours.........why not?

as for Liam Brady..........Football God, he made me proud to be an Arsenal Fan

nah. and hes too small. I want another imposing person, Defoe can't hold the ball up. Adebayor's the only option there, Robin and I think Bendter are average size. And re the idiot opinion - it was Defoe who bit someone on the arm in a match was it not? Would be nice to have an English player though, but I dont think him or Owen are the answer. So no ta. Anelka or Martins. Or Huntelamarr (whatever his name is).

 Listening(reading) the opinions of Gus & Eboue is like watching a bitch fight. Seriously lads is the whole subject that important ? I think Defoe is a handy player and I would much rather sign him than "barbietov" who is a lazy bastard on the pitch. As for defoe's attitude, I think it wouldnt be the 1st player with so called attitude problems that Arsene has sorted out would it ? However, that being said, I do think we can do better in the transfer market at this stage and we should be aiming higher. I suppose the arguement between ye 2 is born out of the sense of frustration that we are all feeling right now. We nned some transfer activity and fast before we all have a breakdown

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Have some of you lost the plot?

The answer to our striking problems is a player considered not good enough by his club? A club far less succesful than us? A club that we historically hate more than any other? Our bitterest rivals? They are already laughing at us for the loss of Henry, to replace him for one of their rejects would just top it off!

I'd love it if they lost Berbatov and replaced him with Aliadiere or lost King and signed senderos.

Like someone said this is not about bias, would love berbatov, loved Sol, would even be pleased to get King but Defoe? No thanks.

We have Adebayor/Bendtner/RVP/Theo so not desperate but we have the opportunity of players of the quality of Tevez/Eto'o/Huntelaar/Owen why would we drop to a Defoe level. If he was that great he'd be a spuds regular.

I have tried to play devils advocate here in regards to Forlan, Anelka, releasing Cole etc and that is tough to make a case sometimes but Defoe is even tougher. Yes he was an arsenal fan when he was younger and scored alot of goals earlier in his career but thats it. He has not scored many in recent years and certainly doesn't warrant a move to a top 4 team as their main goalscorer.

Please tell me i've been sucked in hook line and sinker by responding to a tongue in cheek post!! I must have drunk far more than i realised last night!

I have to say I am something of a Defoe fan, if you take away the Spurs bias I am sure most would say he is a player who knows where the goal is. As for character, there was no greater prat than our very own Ian Wright (just read his own book).

Arsenal could do a lot worse than take a look at Defoe. With our style of play and his poachers instinct I think he would get us goals up front with RVP.

Please can someone show me some evidence of Defoe's class!

Im sorry but I just dont buy it!

Seriously would moonhead Jol pay that kind of money for Bent if he had this apparent striking genius at the club anyhow!?

Look at the other clubs interested in him.....Pompey etc! Are we in that class now?

Glad someone agrees with me!
