Not good news at all, he makes a difference with his pace and bottle.
I would not sell him though, even though he has been injured a lot.
He deserves next season at least to see what he can do as he is only 20.
I would really hope we can recall Jay Simpson from loan at West Brom, the squad is now too small at a crucial stage of the season and even if a player like Simpson just came on for 15 minutes at the end of a game we were winning, it could prevent other players getting worn out.

exactly.digger wrote:He's had three notable injuries since he came to Arsenal.augie wrote:It isnt because of an injury as you put it but more like multiple injuries. Then again you probably think that keeping rosicky on the payroll is important to our club too
Dislocated his shoulder twice due to a hereditary condition (which has been sorted), and tweaked his knee this morning.
Hardly something to sack him over.....
It's also not certain yet that it's as bad as they fear. Let's wait and see.
Sacking players over a few injuries in their younger years would not only be incredibly shabby, it would also be stupid. Just look at Clichy etc.

Thought most of Walcott's injuries have been the shoulder? Now had this injury been his shoulder again, I would be really concerned. This? It happens, as long as knee problems don't become a regular thing.augie wrote: It isnt because of an injury as you put it but more like multiple injuries. Real blow, now back to two wingers and Eboue.

as much as i love to hate him, it must be said that since eBOOuegate, he has been performing miles better, and even getting 3 goals in his last 3 performances (nothing to get too excited about though) can only do good for his confidence!Magic Hat wrote:Thought most of Walcott's injuries have been the shoulder? It's just a way of getting him out the England squad.
Wenger: Theo it looks like your running funny?
Theo: Nah I fell fine boss. In fact I think I can do a full 90 now!
W: Your running looks akward. Lets see the Dr.
T: Eh?
Dr: lets scan your knee Theo to be sure.
Scan proceeds.....
Dr: Theo looking at the scan Wenger er...erm I've personally just had to let the England staff know that you have a knee injury.
T: but I feel great.
W: you say that know but in the next day or two maybe not
Dr: Weg...We reckommend that we check on your progress and your injury in the next few days but this will mean you'll be out of the England squad.
T: ah man!
W: You'll be fine for Man C at home....well erm....so the Dr says.
T: he didn't say that!?
Dr: Err...well I was about too
T: oh! okay.

All jokes aside it wouldn't surprise me if this was the case, it's crunch time in the season now and the last thing anyone needs is for him to go away with England and get re injured for a pointless friendly.
Arsenal pay his wages not England and he's needed, look at Gerrard, he oftne pulls out with mysterious injuries that heal rapidly after a International fixture and Walcott is not the same as Eduardo who NEEDS games.
I'm not slating Eboue but he is, when in midfield, a side midfielder. Solid, keeps the ball, tries to make bursts through gaps, useful when on form and yes, a goal machine. He is not a winger or a creative midfielder and we need that more then we do his defensive possession work at the moment.Mikegooner87i wrote:

Unless I have read the previous threads wrong I cannot see anybody suggesting sacking theo or any other player but merely selling them on
I keep hearing about certain players being key for us but how can you be a key player if you are constantly injured ? This situation isnt just confined to theo as I have said before cos rosicky (a player I really rate) should be out the door and I would suggest that diaby may be getting near last chance saloon too. I find it hypocritical that so many have slated us for the sell theo comments but were actually saying the same thing about rvp at the start of this season if he couldnt stay fit
How many injury prone seasons do you allow any player ?

I thought our 'injured' players returning was too good to be true.
The international 'break' is always the signal for the Arsenal treatment room to swell to the power on 'n' but to get this walking off the training ground is hard to take.
He's already racked up more injuries and time off and 19 that Ryan Giggs has managed at 35. One reason, amongst several, why Giggs has to keep making room in his trophy cabinet at the end of each season.
I wonder how long it will be before Walcott faces a similar dilemma ?
