It's ridiculous all these rumours. I would prefer Martins to this Argentinian bloke though.

As for who's next...well, I hear its a youngster described as a utility. He's equally competent at keeper or up front, and can play on the left/right side of defence/midfield.

He's set to cost us 50million and is described as a 'steal'.

The Daily Mail are carrying this story also saying he is arriving tomorrow for a medical. They reckon this was the guy who Barcelona had in mind before TH became available.

Would be Wenger like only because it is unexpected and no one has ever heard of him.

Just seen on SSNews, it's in the London Evening Standard about this lad too. They report that he'll fly in for his medical before joining up with the squad on the tour of Austria.

Which we should be able to see some of on the old P2P Streaming.

CAN'T BELIEVE WE ARE GONNA SPEND Â£15 MILLION ON THIS GUY!!

FIRST OF ALL, IF TRUE THE PRICE IS WAY TOO HIGH FOR SOMEONE WHOSE STRIKE RATE ISN'T THAT GREAT AND WHO ISN'T EVEN PROVEN ON THE INTERNATIONAL STAGE YET.

i thought Martins would of been a good buy but that seems dead in the water now

Why are some people saying they would prefer 22 year old(!!!!??) Martins to Palacio. That's like saying you preferred Chris Sutton to Thierry Henry before we signed him. How much does anyone know about Palacio? (except his Hare Krishna haircut or stuff you've picked up on youtube) He is an unknown quantity so you'll have to trust the boss (if he indeed signs him)

I have said in Arsene i trust but i just think Martins would of been a safer bet but i am 100% behind Arsene (Not in a sexual way)

NOT ALL OF US GET OUR INFORMATION ABOUT PLAYERS ONLY VIA THE PRESS ,AND SOME OF US WATCH ALL OTHER KINDS OF FOOTBALL, NOT ONLY PREMIER LEAGUE. THEREFORE, SOME OF US HAVE SEEN THIS GUY BEFORE.

BEING A MEMBER OF THAT CLUB, MY OPINION IS THAT IT WOULD BE A BIG RISK AT THE PRICE QUOTED. I ALSO THINK, AS STATED ABOVE, THAT FOR Â£15 MILLION WE CAN DO BETTER - ALTHOUGH I'D PREFER ROBINHO TO MARTINS.

IHH, I think most people would prefer robinho to martins and im definetly one of them but I think most gooners are taking the reality theory and thinking we are more likely to get martins.

Totally agree with IHH on this one.

So we have been linked with Anelka/Eto'o/Owen/Martins/Tevez and now Palacio. Have to ignore the press and make your own mind up which can be difficult.

It would be a first if AW were to spend that amount of money on a non-european. He prefers people who are proven to a certain extent even if we have not heard of them. Think this is another one that will lead nowhere unless the price is below Â£10m then it's a possibility.

Don't forget in light that it was the Argentinian sources that quoted the fee, you have to take it with a pinch of salt much in the same way as how Dudu's fee was so grossly exaggerated by his own club no less, that Arsenal took the unusual step of insisting that it was closer half of what Zagreb's president was boasting!
