I really think we should attack them on Tuesday night & attempt to win the game. Would be happy enough with a high score draw though. Ideally, would like to see us score at least twice out there so i'll go 2-2! Today first though, i strongly fancy us - comfortable win.
Preferring to lose 3-2 as opposed to 0-0 doesn't make sense, if you lose 3-2 then any draw at home and you're out, there are more possible ways to go out if you lose first leg than there are if you draw 0-0 even if you lose 10-9.
i think his point is if we get '10-9' we will not have to be worried of away goals and can push up...
It's still false logic.

I understand what you're saying...My only point is that if we draw 0-0 in Spain on Tuesday, the home leg would then be extremely tense/tough. We'd wanna obviously push on and go for the win but will be extremely cautious of being hit by the sucker punch of conceeding an away goal. 0-0 after 90 minutes in the 2nd leg would be even worse, as we'd then be faced with a situation where we'd have to play an extra half hour, knowing that if Villarreal nicked one in that half hour it would be goodnight Vienna! If we don't score on Tuesday, I will feel that we've fucked it, just my opinion.

Nasri, Walcott passed fit for Villarreal tie

Theo Walcott and Samir Nasri have been passed fit to face Villarreal in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Walcott suffered a minor knee problem against Manchester City on Saturday while Nasri returned from international duty last week with flu. Both players are available for the Quarter-Final first leg.

However, Robin van Persie will not travel to Spain after failing to shrug off a groin injury. Arsène Wenger had given the Dutchman a "50:50" chance of making the 18-man squad but he misses out.

Eduardo (groin), Abou Diaby (thigh) and Tomas Rosicky (groin) are also unavailable on Tuesday night.

Arsenal squad to face Villarreal:
1 Manuel ALMUNIA (GK)
3 Bacary SAGNA
4 Cesc FABREGAS
5 Kolo TOURE
8 Samir NASRI
10 William GALLAS
12 Carlos VELA
14 Theo WALCOTT
15 DENILSON
17 Alex SONG
18 Mikael SILVESTRE
20 Johan DJOUROU
21 Lukasz FABIANSKI (GK)
22 Gael CLICHY
25 Emmanuel ADEBAYOR
26 Nicklas BENDTNER
27 Emmanuel EBOUE
40 Kieran GIBBS

Hmm a bit of a blow not having v.Persie, biggest blow is Diaby out as I feel he is very very good in european games, particularly away....my team would be.....

-------------------Almunia------------------------

Sagna.........Gallas.........toure...............Clichy

Theo--------Song--Cesc--Denilson-------Nasri-

------------------Adebayor-----------------------

Hearing the squad announcement, that is undoubtedly the team that Wenger will start with Gooner Whitey. Ade will have to work hard!

We usually see the best of him when he plays on his own as he has no choice but to put the work in......fingers crossed he proves a lot of us wrong in the next month

That's going to be pretty much spot on G.W. - I'll go for a 2-0 win, job done....

Don't be surpised if Eboue gets the nod ahead of Theo, for his defensive qualities, and I would agree with that selection.

I can also see where you're coming from Sid, but it's always been AW's intention to attack them in this first leg game, and if we do get a couple of goals (especially early) then he can always hook Walcott later on in the game to protect (which I hope) is a winning lead.

Yeah true! I'd forgotten about Eboue! Would not surprise me if he started with Eboue and brought Walcott on with half hour to go. Where are people heading for this, that aren't going to Spain? I was tempted with the Acadamy but was there for the Liverpool away leg last season and can't quite bring myself to go there again! Too many bad memories! Twelve Pins for me.

Unfortunately working late tomorrow, got to work like a nutter to get out at a decent time! Officially I leave at 8pm, but I'm hoping to get away around 7.30pm.... probably watch it indoors if I do get away at 7.30pm.

injury update
Nasri is fit
Rosicknote, Rvp, diaby and Eddie are out :( Im still hopefull though. Cesc, ade, theo and nasri is enough to get the job done. They are missing santi cazorles for an eduardo like injury
still 2-1 us imo :barscarf:
