If he does stay. Will you be booing him?

Fair play. I have to admit I would rather he went and was replaced.

If he does stay though, booing him from the start of the season won't help anyone, especially the team.

Just hope everyone else sees it that way.

if he does stay it's because the club wants him to stay and he wants to stay as well.

I too would rather see him sold, but if he does stay I'd be willing to give him another chance.

We can't go into next season bearing a grudge against players, I think if only for our own sake we have to allow him to start at zero again. If that means we get back the Adebayor of 07/08 then fair enough, a player like that is always needed. I don't even want to think about getting last seasons Adebayor back.

Booing or slagging him off after each little mistake won't help him and much more importantly it won't help the team and the club.

Wonder how Madrid do it  Easy for them to get the best players in the world but we are finding it hard to get the next best thing :banghead:
surely you are joking with this question
I believe Chelski have money but did they sign Kaka No, have they got nearer to getting Villa No, so your point is?
You can have all the money but negotiation and persuasion is still the main factor of the market and we have failed with that on many occasions.

Chelsea do not have Real Madrid money and you can see that they've failed with each attempt this summer to sign top players.

We've already signed one player (and we've been the only big 4 club to have done so btw) and Wenger says he wants to add one or two more quickly. I really don't see how anyone could possibly complain about a lack of effort and urgency on the transfer market at this point.

Statman, whilst I agree partly with your sentiments, this is very much a two-way street, and if he does stay, and starts off the new season like he finished off last season, then, there could be trouble ahead...

yeah, definitely. That's why I said I don't even want to consider that.

If he doesn't put in the application and work rate of 07/08 that's inexcusable. But if he does he deserves another chance, I guess.

Hmmmm.... we'll see, I still reckon he's on his way, especially the way AW conveniently dropped him from the team in the last few games of last season.

my thoughts too.

But it seems like not too many clubs are interested at the moment. Selling him for much under 25 million would be a mistake.

I don't think it would IMO, how much did we buy him for? 7-8 million? Any profit of him would be great, then there's the savings on his wages and also a happier dressing room.

Let's face it, I would be happy with 15-20 million, and that's probably where his present value lies, especially if Santa-Cruz's value is 16 million (albeit a Man City valuation)

''Chelsea made an important offer for him (Villa). But the answer (from Valencia) was 'no' because negotiations with Real Madrid are very advanced.

''Hence, there's no possibility that Villa will go to Chelsea because he wants to go to Real Madrid. The purpose of the meeting was to have have some contact and know with certainty what Villa's situation is.

''Now we have clear ideas and we know that to expect.''
Does that say Chelsea cannot afford him or they were late and Madrid negotiations started early?
Who was the competition for Vermaelen? Villa and who are we up against for Melo? Inter, Madrid and possible Milan. So do you think we will get him if we all start negotiations after the conf cup? orelse he really wants to join us we have no chance.
Btw we are not getting a prize for being the first of the "big 4" to sign a player. In the end we buy according to our needs not theirs.

I think if greedywhore does stay then, as Hadereud says, we probably should start afresh with him. FOR THE TEAM'S SAKE and no other reason. If he is booed and jeered from the start he ain't going to contribute much and we'll need everyone here to be firing all guns next season.

Also, booing our own players (even crunts like him) only gives a bad impression to other prospective players that might be considering a move. Maybe the money and terms etc being offered to a player are the same between us and another club and the final decider might be something as simple as the lifestyle in the city or the training facilities or the fans... do we really want to come across as fickle, whining fans that boo our own? :?

Dont agree.Who is going to pay £25m on his performances last season?I would take £15m to get him out of the club.He is a bad apple who if he stays will cause the same problems as last season. He wanted a move last summer and he played all last season like he didnt want to be there. What has changed?
