Wenger: No departures this summer/ Adebayor poll

Post by projoe »

[quote]Arsene Wenger insists he will do everything within his power to keep his best players from walking away from Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners boss is determined to avoid a repeat of last summer when Alexander Hleb and Mathieu Flamini quit the club to join sides on the continent.

Emmanuel Adebayor and Cesc Fabregas have both been linked with moves away from North London, but the Frenchman says this summer is all about strengthening.

Wenger says he has identified the targets he believes can help take Arsenal to the next level and he hopes to have them in place before the start of pre-season.

“We lost Hleb and Flamini last summer and we have had to rebuild,â€

bollocks, thought we might raise some extra transfer funds from his sale, although knowing arsenal they would have kept it for the boards holiday kitty :o

if he does stay and gives us his best and gets a good goal tally then the fans will back him again but i can't see it happening but heres hoping

Those comments are 12 months too late in my humble opinion.

But still, there is hope. Now if he sticks to his guns and isn't just talking the talk this mother fucker might just be moving over to the "dark side" come August.

Yep, just what the club needed last year.

Now there is some dead wood that should be off.

What is most worrying is that there is no sign of Silvestre moving on, I am worried that wenger has signed Vermaelan as a cheap alternative to a dfm,
I'm sure I read somewhere that he has played that role for Ajax when called upon.
It wouldn't be the first time aw has signed a player then played him out of position.

Wonder how Madrid do it  Easy for them to get the best players in the world but we are finding it hard to get the next best thing :banghead:

I don't see what the problem is with this at all.

Personally if we don't lose any players and bring in another couple I think that would be a great summer.

For once we might actually have a big squad rather the small one which seems to ruin our season each year.

yours, and everyones wish could still come true:

Milan To Rekindle Interest In Arsenal Star Adebayor If Dzeko Move Fails – Report
Milan are ready to rekindle their interest in Arsenal hitman Emmanuel Adebayor if their move for Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko fails.

The Rossoneri are finding it difficult to pin down Dzeko. Milan have been trying to force their hand for the Bosnian, but Wolfsburg are reluctant to sell.

Il Corriere Dello Sport reports the Rossoneri may dig out old plans for the Gunners striker. The Italians were linked with Adebayor last summer, but the trail for him went cold. Voices claim the player's Italian representatives, Giuliano Terraneo and Claudio Vigorelli, were in Milan on Monday to talk about a possible move.

The Rossoneri are keen on Dzeko, and they are likely to keep on pushing for their target, with Adebayor being the alternative choice.

Despite the rumours, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed he has no intention to sell his top players this summer.

'New' Roma Want Didier Drogba Or Emmanuel Adebayor - Report
As a potential change in ownership looms, Roma have already identified some transfer targets and will look to add some more power in attack, according to Tuttosport.

The lack of a pure striker has often been a problem for the capital club over the past few seasons, but should they become owned by the Swiss-German conglomerate headed by Vinicio Fioranelli, they will look to sign either Chelsea hitman Didier Drogba or Arsenal bomber Emmanuel Adebayor.

Over four years, Fioranelli is ready to invest between €150-160 million in the transfer market and one of the African strikers is the first name on the list.

However, alternatives such as Real Madrid duo Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Gonzalo Higuain, as well as Milan veteran Andrey Shevchenko are being touted as alternatives, as the Premier League outfits may not let their star assets leave.

Roma struggled in Serie A last season, coming in sixth place and thus missing out on Champions League football.
