Did the ankle in...

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I did my ankle over 2 years ago. (like father like son   )

The wife was watching from the sides and never seen me play before.
When it happend I knew the guy caught me bad but sought some rest on the touch line.

The wife thought I was putting it on a bit as my ankle ,at the time, looked fine.
Incidently, my mate got more concern from his in grown toenail was cutting him and made it bleed.

Went to come back on and run it of but it just wasn't going to happen.
We all ended up going for pizza after and the ankle was still giving me jib so I took my shoe off.

Same as DB ankle was like a Balloon. (Oh! now I get the simpathy!!  )

Never went for a scan just to the GP.......he was sure it was broken suggest going to get a scan for my own benifit.
I never went but months down the line and even now I knew it wasn't broken but I bet I did similar internal damage.

Yeah - broke the left ankle in two places (inside and out) and tore the calf muscle to the bone. Got crunched through the standing foot from the side, studs up, both feet, as I was about to pull the trigger.

Consultant said the calf muscle tearing saved the ankle from dislocating or the achiles from snapping so I "was lucky" (his words - not mine). Spent 3 months imobilised in a cast and then 2 months learning to walk properly again and doing terrible physio. The ice immersion was the worst - the pain was incredible.

I usually heal quickly but it was over 6 months before I kicked a ball again and trying to get back match fit nearly killed me. Worst thing was the injury happened on the Saturday following our CL final loss in 2006.

Horrible fucking week... :(

Lucky enough then!!! :D I can see where he is coming form with that diagnosis.

My ankle isn't even that sore now, i got a metal plate on the outside of my leg as it snapped in half and thats where all the pain is.

And I agree that ice immersion is the most painful thing ever.

Fingers crossed I hopefully get a game in the next year!!!
