Atmosphere plans for Pompey home

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

To quote Augie: This club gets more laughable by the day.
I never understood the fact that 57000 scarves means their will be a good atmosphere. Makes no sense.

This free scarves and flags bullshit is Chelsea all over and sadly we are becoming like them ie classless.
The amount of pisstaking and abuse we got for the 9 minute atmosphere against the Mancs was off the charts so why are we going down that road again?

This sadly sums redaction up, they think this is a good idea.
Why not go the whole 9 yards and get fan chants played over the speakers?

Or don't waste time at all and tell the club we don't need manufactured support.

apparently we need none at all then.

Because that's what the team gets.

Unless you call moaning and whinging and booing your own players support, of course.

One definition of 'No support' is an empty seat.

It'll be interesting to see how many of those there are come the opener against Portsmouth. If these rumours of plummeting Season Ticket Sales are born out, they won't need 57,000 scarfs. Either that or they'll have a lot left over.

True. Alot of the younger fans nowdays really don't get what a chore supporting The Arsenal can be at times  .

Don't get me wrong; I love them dearly but no single entity in this world has frustrated and dissapointed me as much as The Gunners have over the last 38 years or so!! Still love them more than life though... 8)

Seems entirely pointless against Portsmouth.... surely if they're gonna waste the money doing this, they're better off doing it for an evening game?

Perhaps they're hoping that this one won't be a 9 minute wonder?

I'm not saying its a great idea, but its a start. And if it actually starts getting us singing and generating the atmosphere that we all want but no-one seems to be able to produce then hats off.
