Rooney did dive (got pics)

I agree with Spudmasher, Shrek was on his way down before but Almunia had committed himself and made the decision easy for Mike Dean who probably would have given it anyway if Almunia was on his line.

Penalty and a gift from Almunia when we were in a position of utter control.

Rooney looked for it certainly but that isn't against the rules, contact was made by the keeper, penalty.

Rooney clearly on his way down before Almunia touched him.

Rooney clearly more skilld at diving than Dudu (and Eboue).

Poor decision by Manuel but good judgement required in a split second. He thought he could get there first.

If you watch it all in normal speed it looks like a pen but I think we were very cleverly cheated.

The thing that gets me, regardless of it being a dive or not, rooney had booted the ball completely off the field of play and then went down, he would never ever have got the ball, so why should he be given a penalty?

yeah i agree i said that in the match thread - it isn't like he was going to be in a goal scoring or creating chance?

I'm sorry but the ONLY difference between eduardos and rooneys was that boric managed to pull out of the challenge just in time. If manuel had managed to pull out of the challenge rooney would have gone to ground. How do we know that? Because rooney had already made his mind up that he was going down hence the starting to fall before contact was made. Both strikers were running out of grass and saw an opportunity to 'win' a penalty. To me, both cases are very similar. Eduardos simply looked worse as boric got out of the way just in time. It's an extremely grey area.

Rooney makes me to feel shame to wear his England shirt...Fell down few years ago to cost our beaten run...fell down again today to erase our sweet old trafford win today

I am sure now you can take the (diving) role of Ronaldo

Yes I do  I supported England for so many years and I went to the WC with England. I can't think of anyone else....Walcott was not playing in the German WC
