Denilson and Bendtner

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I doubt the club will need to shit themselves if Bendtner or Denilson's contract got to the last year, do you see City coming in with 20M offers?
true, nobody would want them. As shit as they are.

Hardly good enough for the Conference, really.

Now you're just being silly, let's keep it in perspective, it is not Arshavin or fabregas we are talking about, while Bendtner and Denilson are promising players they would both struggle to get into any of the other top 6 teams so there is no reason to fear them leaving as they won't take a step down.

I'm a positive person, glass always half full never half empty but the actions of club in this transfer window and the timing of these anouncments make it hard to stay that way.

I never expected Messi but did think some bolstering was needed as the team fell so short last season when it counted, all the club has done is reward the bulk of that same squad.

Kill me now. We're fucking doomed.

Everything is shit. If you won't kill me at least cut my dick off.

Why are we giving prospects long term contracts.Let them prove themselves then and only then give them a long term deal.Denilson and Bendtner have proved nothing yet

It wont be long before the Ivorian diving champion is given a 10 year contract :banghead: :banghead:

yeah you're right.

Let their current contracts run out, that will show them how to improve quickly. It also means that we won't make any money should we choose to sell, but hey - that would be much better.
No lets reward mediocrity

If ever a thread summed up a forum....
Do you really think the club thought, 'hang on, a couple of people on the onlinegooner forum might go mental over this like they do everything else. We shouldn't tell anyone what's happening'.

I just find it all hillairious,it was so obvious there was no
way Wenger was going to add to the squad, that this
"Great news" was as certain of happening as night
follows day!
A classic Wenger move, brilliant bit of spin if ever I've
seen it.Dennilson and Bendtner, great, can hardly wait
to watch them both for another few years!

well it looks like Wengers legacy will remain after he's gone! (Unless we get a new manager who actually clears the dead wood)

Haddie, I've said before that I like reading your contributions on here but you have to understand that some fans believe that players like Denilson and Bendtner are not the quality we need to win trophies. I'm definitely not saying they're crap but imo they are good rather than quality. The timing of this announcement is shit and only Gordon Brown could make a more badly timed statement.
Is this what they mean when they say 'matching the top clubs'? Giving lucrative contracts to players who wouldn't get into any of the other top 5 teams?
£41m buys quality. Experience does not necessarily turn into quality. Yep get Fabregas etc on 7 year deals. As you'll gather I'm still totally fucked off by the lack of investment in the squad. (and no, I don't regard this as adequate)

yiipiie!!!

i'm really glad. specially since i just ordered the new blue shirt (again, i don't like it very much, but at least i can go to Gremio matches with it) with bendtner 52 on the back!!!

i really like both of them, i think they will become top players and i am really glad they signed new contracts.
