Denilson and Bendtner

Post by Red107 »

They've both signed long term contracts.

Now we can't complain about not signing anyone.

[quote]Arsenal Football Club is delighted to announce that midfielder Denilson has signed a new long-term contract with the Club.

Having joined Arsenal in 2006 from his homeland club Sao Paulo, Denilson (21) firmly established himself in the Gunners’ engine room in the 2008/09 season, making more appearances than any other Arsenal player during the campaign. Having played in every Premier League game, the young midfielder clocked up an impressive 51 appearances in all competitions scoring three goals.

A busy and efficient player with a good eye for a pass, Denilson has captained his country at every level from Under-15 to Under-20 and was a finalist at the 2005 FIFA Under-17 World Championships.

Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger said: “Denilson’s contribution to the Club last season was outstanding. His work rate really was exceptional and it is valuable to have players that we know will perform to the very last minute in such a demanding league. I’m pleased that he has committed his long-term future to the Club. â€

 The sad thing is they are so out of touch with what the fans want they probably were thinking this announcement would make everyone forget we didn't sign anyone and that we've just banked another 40m quid that should have been spent on new players.

We are giving too many players who have not proved themselves long contracts. Is it any wonder our wage bill is just a million pounds less than Man Utd? Give these players big bonuses when they actually win something   :banghead:

Thats not what we are frustrated about mate! Whats frustrating is how desparatley this squad needs some quality additions, but no.. lets not spend big money, instead lets give denilson and bendtner new contracts, that will make the fans forget us not signing anyone again.

Our club is run by a bunch of *word censored*!

Why are we giving prospects long term contracts.Let them prove themselves then and only then give them a long term deal.Denilson and Bendtner have proved nothing yet

It wont be long before the Ivorian diving champion is given a 10 year contract :banghead: :banghead:

yeah you're right.

Let their current contracts run out, that will show them how to improve quickly. It also means that we won't make any money should we choose to sell, but hey - that would be much better.

Are you having a laugh mate?

I doubt the club will need to shit themselves if Bendtner or Denilson's contract got to the last year, do you see City coming in with 20M offers?
