As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Arsenal are basically saying that:
For the Standard Liege game at least 10,000 tickets were purchased (either as part of a season ticket or as a single game) from the club for an average price of £65 and those people did not turn up...
That's over half a million pounds worth of tickets that people could not find a home for... i.e. friend, neighbour, buyback scheme...???
It just doesn't make sense... the value of the empty seats on Saturday could top £1million!!!
There is no mystery! it makes me laugh the amount of people that go on about how low the attendance will be! The place is generally always packed! If you think there will be 20,000 empty seats then your are very deluded!
Don't believe for a minute it will be down 10K. We've been down 2k-3k on a good few occasions and my money is on about 58000 for this one.
The club lie out their holes about all the 60K sell out games - it only happens for games against the scum, the chavs the manure filth and the bin dippers.
You can use your eyes and it's a pretty good estimate on the assumption that every seat occupied = 60,140 or whatever the exact 'capacity' is.
With that in mind we've had more than a couple of 55,000s this season but it's certainly not dipped below 50,000.
Club Level is supposed to be Season Tickets only. It isn't as they can't sell them, given the asking prices of between three and five thousand pounds per season. So they have to sell a considerable proportion - at least 25% - on a match basis and sometimes they can't do that.
Club Level is 9,000 - if you include the boxes. If your missing say 15% each game, that's @ 1,500 empties before you start on the top or bottom tiers.

This is utter tosh. There are around 40 blocks of seats in the stadium. Even assuming say 2000 empty seats in club level, that leaves 200 empties in each block to get to your figure of 10k. In each block! Total nonsense. There's usually a couple of thousand empty seats for any game not invovling the top teams or Spurs, but that's it.

It may be tosh. But dont tell us every game is sold out and that the attendance is 60,000 when we can see loads of enpty seats around the ground with our own eyes. Why cant the Club tell us the actual attendance of how many fans are in the stadium?

When they say it's sold out they mean all the tickets have been sold, if people decide not to come or leave at half time then it makes no difference to if they have sold all the tickets or not.
