Ok so lets say in a perfect world, in this instance lehmann IS injured (you know what i mean) this could be a blessing in disguise!!
Almunia comes in and plays pretty well, in fact he play pretty confidently and doesnt make any mistakes, with gooners the world over praising his efforts.
Now old mad boot jens returns to training from his injury, and now realises he has to knuckle down to earn his place back (i was going to say earn his spurs back but for obvious reasons...) and thus we have two goalkeepers fighting for a first team berth. That for me could be a good outcome.
Also, im still unsure of almunia, against bolton in the cup at home he was very good, but on a few occassions i.e. league cup final, champ lge final, he could of done better, but that might be the enormity of the occassion and lack of experience. He's got a chance now to show what he can do, and i think he will cos he knows that lehmann's confidence has taken a knock and theres pressure on him to recover. Finally i remember reading an article from fabianski, and if my memeory serves me correctly, he said that if a GK was dropped they would face a problem getting bakc in the side if he came in. Thats what i like to see in a goalie - confidence!!
Lehmann out

I'm not surprised Wengers given Jens a couple of weeks off...
These days you cant just throw 2 points away here and there..His confidence is obviously shot at to be honest at the moment he's becoming a liability.
I really like Almunia. One of those keepers that although not being in the class of the "top" class goalies, makes me feel a bit more comfortable than Jens. He's improved greatly in the past year or so and I'm glad he stayed. Jens needs a rocket up his arse(nal) at the moment an if Manuel plays well this could be the best situation for everyone..

It makes you think how wise it is to buy a 21 year old keeper, who is supposed to be extremly promising, and not give him any games as well. Playing for the resverves, who lets face it's more or less non competitive football, can only be a setback in development. Keppers may not reach their peak until their 30s but that's because they've had 10 or so years of experinece.

Jens mentioned something was to blame for the Blackburn goal, maybe the injury played it's part? The rest and healing will do him good, I'm sure Almunia won't let us down but hope Jens returns for the big games, when on form he is a key player for us and I'm sure he will go out this summer on a high
