Time to give Eboue some credit
people were really quick to get on his back
gonna be serious here and shit
There was a lot of diving, play-acting and general poor attitude from the bloke. He was in the wrong position and has improved in attitude. Decent right back, no doubt. Absolute toilet right midfielder, no doubt.
Big up. For real.

It's simple really ! He's started playing and stopped - by and large - diving and play acting.
There was never any agenda against him but as he kept messing around people lost their patience with him. When he kicked out at Modric and got himself sent off at Spurs, people understandably wrote him off.
If you act like an idiot the fans treat you like one.
Play for the Club with pride and passion the fans love it - and you.

He's having a great season. He's had some fantastic moments in attack, too.
From article (http://www.goal.com/en-india/news/221/c ... ve-arsenal).
"I have got two more years with Arsenal and I feel very well here. I want to win something for the club because they have helped me a lot, so I want to win something for them."
The player is also delighted to be working with a manager he describes in most affectionate terms.
"Arsene Wenger is always with us when we have a bad day so for me I think he is like our Daddy so we are all happy to play for him," he enthused.
"Last year and this year is not the same because this year we are more comfortable and I think if we continue to play together like against Porto then why can we not do something?"

Or you could be optimistic and say, he'll score or create the decisive goal against Fulham to win us the league, or make a goal-line clearance in the last minute of the CL final to keep the score at 1-0 to the Arsenal! See, not too hard, this being positive lark.DERRY GOONER wrote:"Arsene Wenger is always with us when we have a bad day so for me I think he is like our Daddy so we are all happy to play for him," he enthused.

Wasnt that the season we actually looked reasonably solid in defence in Europe?? Best right back in the world that season, was a shame he had to sacrafice his more favoured position for Sagna with the hope it would be quite an easy transition into midfield. Even though I feel Sagna is slightly better at defending he offers nothing compared to what Eboue does going forward.

Eboue is a good squad player and very good back up at right back but thats as far as it goes im afraid. Although i dont agree with booing our own his performances and Wengers insistance in playing him right midfield, he came as close as ive ever seen to deserving it. I would still play Sagna ahead of him everytime

radford would like to add that eboue started of being a great full back and a breath of fresh air when he arrived in the winter of 2006 he thinks. from the start of the next season we saw a steady decline in the player to the point where he was totally shit.
the boos at wigan were fully deserved at that cameo "performance" was one of the worst ever.
his antics were pathetic and frankly he should be ashamed of what he got up to.
has he been better this season...yes but it must be said against poor teams. and 8 reasonable games do not make up for two seasons of dross.
fans like him because he makes them laugh big fucking deal. radford would rather a player be a *word censored* and play well than one who makes him laugh and plays like a *word censored*.
again fans like him because he goes over to the away fans again radford could not give a shit about that if the team and him have not performed.
radford states lastly that eboue will get the contract extension that he is clearly playing for and hopes that his attitude and performances continue to improve.

Apart from his diving, I have nothing but respect for Eboue, I think there are very few players in the world who could have come back from the disgraceful humiliation he suffered last seaon.
He has shown that he genuinely loves the club by not taking the easy option which would have been to request a transfer.
He may not be the most talented player in the world, but his committment and attitude are an example to every player at the club, and it is these traits that can play a big part in determining whether or not we win something this season.

Eboue Can't DefendNumber 5 wrote:He really wasn't. He was moved forward as Wenger and his staff identified the right back area as the weakest position in the defence. Sagna was signed to make an immediate improvement in this area defensively because Eboue really couldn't defend. Like really. He still can't. Defend. That is.
