Time to give Eboue some credit

Post by 1989 »

I thought the bloke was done as an Arsenal player after the Wigan booing, but kudos to him, he's knuckled down, worked hard and showed plenty of bollocks and improved his game rather than getting petulant and asking for a transfer etc. The fans love him now and he's becoming one of the favorites at the Grove. Credit where credit's due, he's earned it.

Time to give Eboue some credit
To be fair, I think the majority of fans HAVE given him some credit and, on the whole, have been pretty decent with him for some time now.

It's great to see him playing so well, and he also seems I really nice chap, so long may it continue!

Seconded, the turnaround is unreal. The only thing he really needs to cut out is his diving.

He has always been good, he just had a little spell where he had a run of poor games and people were really quick to get on his back

massive credit to the lad, he is in great form now, also always enjoying himself!

Yeah, just the odd season and a third.

Looks like he's finally learning how to use his impressive talents going forward.

here in brazil, where fullbacks are actually wingbacks, eboué is rated as "a lot better than sagna" by all the tv pundits. simply all of them.

of course, they don't understand how the game is played in england, and truth is that eboué is nowhere near sagna in the art of defending, but the lad has been incredible in the last few games. he is one of the best fullbacks in england right now going forward, and not bad at all defending.

well played eboué, let's hope you keep it going :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

wenger was killing eboue by playing him in midfield and I said so at the time. It is no coincidence that everybody is now onboard with eboue again and his form has returned since reverting back to full back which is his proper position. Saying all that he aint in sagna's class defensively

he hasn't played solely at full back, he has had a decent number of games on the right of the front 3 and done absolutely fine!

agree he isnt as good defensively as Sagna, we could do with a cross between the two as sagna is pretty poor going forward!

Its ideal to use eboue there against teams we dont have to defend much against as he will get forward constantly, and use sagna against teams that will threaten us more

Tinkerbell

He's done well this season so credit where its due. I hate it when he plays in the midfield and has no business playing there, but that said he is a great backup to Sagna 8)

The man's finally being used as a squad player. Which is what he is, was and ever shall be.

If he ends up having to play week in week out more often I could easily see a return to problems past.

im gonna burst the eboue bubble here. granted he has been better of late, but on most of those occasions, he has been played in his (better) position of right back, against bad to average teams at home. the stronger teams, and hard away games he will not start, cause he simply isnt good enough 2 start. he still is a diver, and a cryer. id still get rid of him, as i believe he is an accident waiting 2 happen.

its like people have forgotten that he was our main right back in our champions league final run and its only becoz he was playing so well, like how he is now that promted wenger into playing him right wing coz he gets forward so well ...he does a decent job at right wing but at right back he is a very good player....and always was !

He really wasn't. He was moved forward as Wenger and his staff identified the right back area as the weakest position in the defence. Sagna was signed to make an immediate improvement in this area defensively because Eboue really couldn't defend. Like really. He still can't. Defend. That is.
