the celtic fan who ran onto the pitch

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I think its fair enough for the fan to be banned for life, but its only for Celtic home matches I think. Strangely enough he actually turned himself into the club the day after.

It would be too harsh for Celtic to lose points they deserve what they took from Milan. They've taken care of the situation with their fan and UEFA should leave it at that.

I've heard talk that Dida should be suspended for two matches, and I would definitely support that, the diving fool deserves it.

The strange thing is RaM that Celtic didn't deal with the fan. He was allowed to get back off the pitch. At our place, we can't get up out of our seat to scratch our bum without a steward calling a policeman

I think he had a bad conscience and just wanted to help Celtic out.

UEFA should throw the book at Spurs

What I meant Galasso was that they have punished their supporter.

But surely Celtic don't deserve to lose Champions League points?

As for spurs....I suggest mass execution.

No you're right, they have punished him and they don't deserve to lose points. Spurs do!

Only a bit pissed with hearing from the Celtic Chairman, who in an interview said he didn't know whether the guy had been arrested! If I stand still on the stairs at Ashburton for too long, a steward accuses you of being a hooker! (business is bad!!)

Spurs - points deduction then execution   :D

UEFA have already set the precedent for this type of offence. It is steep. The match has generally been awarded to the other team 3-0 or 5-0. Then the next few games are behind closed doors. Can't see them changing precedent.

If this is Celtic's potential punishment, you can bet that they want to punish the prat as much as possible to set a deterrent. A great European night tarnished, possibly ruined because of a tit. If it happen at AG, damn right I'd want him kicked out (and tortured).

As for Dida, he has set his own standards which have been seen right across Europe by players and fans alike. No respect.

Yep, the Denmark guy trying to attack the ref - the only problem was that the guy moved so slowly your granny could've ducked and still had time to rugby tackle him.

I think maybe Celtic will get off a bit lighter than previous sanctions. And the widespread condemnation of Dida's actions might help.
