Kanu

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Of course my fave kanu moment is him leapfrogging over Sylvain Wiltord after his goal that won us the league at Old Trafford, lad had some hops in him don'cha know - bet he drove Henry nuts on the basketball court at London Colney with them.

Yeah that was magical too and with United drawing 2-2 somewhere the same evening the title was ours.......well it was until Nelson Vivas went walkabouts at Elland Road a few days later :banghead:

That season (1999/00), we had Bergkamp, Henry, Suker, Kanu and Overmars! Madness really.
No that was Suggs, Lee Thompson, Chas Smash, Mike Barson......

Are you serious? Fashanu?

Seems old Fash is one of those players that came out of the game without enough money to see him through the rest of his life and now will do literally ANYTHING to avoid having to get a real job. The prize arsehole.

Eboue-Why? wrote:Apart from the marvellous 18 minutes at Stamford Bridge and the Sheffield Utd piss take with Overmars, what was your favourite Kanu goal or moment?

I remember the 5-1 thrashing of Deportivo in the UEFA Cup and a goal he got at the North Bank where he dummied the keeper before going round him to score the 4th or 5th I think.
Personally I think there was more good than bad to remember him by. I know he was regarded as lazy but I enjoyed his time with us
THat was brilliant but my favourite was when he did pretty much the same to Steve Ogrizovic in a 3-0 win at highbury. I remember football focus did a tribute to how great he was then Kanu embarrassed him big style with a similar dummy. Big Oggy retired shortly after.
