Bid on Juan Mata

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

He'd probably be a great player, but he'd probably also fuck off "back home" to Madrid once he reaches his peak.

Another technical midget. Exactly what we need.

I can see this one happening..not as an addition but as a replacement...If this deal goes through there is no doubt it'll be to replace either nasri or more likely Cesc.. Which would explain why Wenger appears to be pushing the boat out by his standards, because he knows he's got much more cash about to come in...

It seems I'm in the minority but I don't think Mata would be that good a signing - especially as a supposed replacement for Cesc. I've watched loads of Spanish football over the past few years and I have to say that this guy, although decent, has never stood out for me as top, top quality. Also we have enough light-weight attacking players at the club already without adding yet another - especially at £18m.
