We have apparently made a bid for juan mata for 18mil. It seems usually when ESPNsoccernet puts a bid on its front page its true more times than not so...interesting...

Yea I agree but a bid for a good player is at least something more to talk about than just "interested in".

It all depends on how much the bid from us is.... we've got plenty of previous of putting in derisory bids and missing out on players... (Oh, and welcome to the forum by the way)

Yea I guess just the idea that Arsene is putting forward a bid for 18mil or more is just kinda nice to see...

Yeah but we reportedly put a bid in for Gervinho a couple of weeks ago but Lille say despite talks ongoing Arsenal haven't made a firm bid yet!! Wenger and Gazidis talk a good transfer window but it's been so long since they had to do it, they don't want to actually part with any serious money!!

Could be AW + co trying to force Barca's hand. Who do you want Mata or Cesc?
I do think there's a lot of politics and gamesmanship behind these transfers.
