Which of the Current squad ARE good enough

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Wenger and you must be the only people who think Nasri will ever play for us again

You don't really need to be able to cross when you play Wengerball (when was the last time you heard that?) Freddie was the worst crosser of the ball I've ever seen. And if Theo tried to modle his game on Freddie he could become a world class player!
How many times do you see Walcott do all the hard work and his final ball Is just awful? Yes he can finish but other than that he shite

What's the question here, good enough for what?

A title winning side? Well only Sagna and Van Persie would get into the teams of those who will be fighting it out for the league this season.

Good enough to bring a good degree of success back to Arsenal? Well no one right now except the two players mentioned above.

Wilshere gets straight into every single Prem team.

  • 1) Players that are good enough for the First XI

    2) Players that are good enough to be squad players
Here are my opinions:-
  • 1) Chesney, Vermaalen, Sagna, Wilshere, RvP, Nasri

    2) Koscielny, Ramsey, Song, Arshavin, Bendtner, Walcott, Gibbs, Flappy(?)

Undecided - Gervinho, Oxo, Miyaichi, Jenkinson, Lansbury

To be destroyed - Almunia, Diaby, Squid, Rosicky, Djourou, Traore, Eastmond, Chamakh,
What is scary is that IMO, we only have 6 out of 11 players that I believe are good enough for 1st choice. Even if I give Gervinho the benefit of doubt and promote him to First XI, that makes us 4 short. Im assuming that Nasri stays...
Swap Djourou with Bendtner and i'll agree

Exactly and his finishing isn't amazing either. He's not a 10/10 nor a 9/10 not really an 8/10 and probably struggling for a 7/10. He's yong but theres only so long that that can be an excuse

If I was boss I would invite offers for, and replace with better and more motivated players:

Almunia
Squillachi
Eastmond
Denilson
Diaby
Arshavin
Vela
Bendtner
Watt

Nasri?
Has the ability but if he wants to leave then I would sell and replace him.

With that lot I would put them all in a dinghy without a paddle in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean!!!

Hmm, I know that but when he first arrived he was played out of position but looked electric, I remember that brilliant goal he scored against Blackburn, cutting in from the left wing, now he just looks like a fat, lazy, disinterested *word censored*. :?

I agree he looks overweight and lazy but where has that come from? Maybe the constant thing of being played out of position has de-motivated him :?

I think that with Cesc's departure, Arshavin should be playing in the middle of the front three midfielders.
Any two from Ramsey, Walcott and Gervinho taking the other positions or Arshavin's position if Arshavin is out.

But with Wenger continuing to not play Arshavin in the central position many of us suspect would be his best, or even wide right midfield where he played for a time in Russia, then I think it best to get some money for what looks to me like an unmotivated and unhappy player.

This time next year Frimpong and Miyaichi will be among those who are good enough to start.
