I'm not surprised that people have put all of our new signings straight into the team but personally I don't agree with it.
If fit I would play Gibbs ahead of Santos for now. Santos is allegedly not at all defence minded and we need to sure up the back before anything else. I think Gibbs being focussed on defence only would be the better option.
I agree with Mertesecker (spelling?) coming straight into the defence as that is critical. He's proven quality and better than all our other options alongside TV. Then Sagna at right back.
In Midfield I would play Song, Wilshere, Ramsey and Arteta in a diamond with Arteta being the link between midfield and the strikers. Then two forwards, initially Walcott and RVP to see how Walcott does up front. If it works I'd then rotate them with any combination of Gervinho/Chamakh/Arshavin for the easier games to keep them fresh.

but he has started reasonably well (including European games) so my starting line up would be the same as yours with Walcott replacing Arshavin/Benayoun.
agreed, i dislike walcott but he has scored 3 in his last 4 so cannot be dropped really, would like to see him through the middle when RVP innevitably gets injured

I want to see:
---------------------Shez-----------------------
--------------------------------------------------
Sagna--------Mert--------Verm---------Santos
--------------------------------------------------
-------------------Song--------------------------
Walcott---------------Wilshire---------Myachi
---------------------------------------------------
---------------Van Persie------------------------
----------------------Gervinho/Park-------------
I would love to see how it worked.
I've said on another thread the lack of a decent back up for Shezza worries me. A new keeper should be a priority in January.donaldo wrote:So you are happen with the cover for Szczesny and Sagna?.Flappy has let us down too many times before and Jenkinson is out of his depth1989 wrote:The squad looks very good. Just needs a top attacking midfielder to complete the puzzle.
As for Jenko I think he's decent. Playing alongside clowns at OT would make Sagna look bad too. He was fine against Udinese but he lacks experience. When he's playing next to Mertesacker he will look much better.
