Players making a mockery out of Wenger, fans hoodwinked
Reasonable points (in the original post) in my opinion.
They must have been just as pee'ed off as we are with so many trophyless years, too many average players in the squad.
If a top club comes in with higher wages and a good chance of silverware then who can blame them.
With better players around them, competition for there starting place and a fresh start to gee them up I am not surprised they look fitter and better than under AW's recent dismal years.

It is really, really funny to hear people making excuses about 'Oh they are surrounded by better players' and 'oh they are motivated by more money'.
It has been well documented that Cesc is earning less money at Barca than he is at Arsenal! If Cesc is surrounded by better players and was surrounded by rubbish at Arsenal, then that is Wenger's fault for continuing to pay c***s like Chamakh £80k a week.
It is especially hilarious to hear people saying 'Cesc and Nasri are under less pressure at their new clubs'. REALLY? Do you honestly bloody believe that!
Cesc is playing in the best club side in the world, competing with the best two midfielders in the world for a place in the side. This is a club expected to deliver every season. At Arsenal, Cesc was in a pressure-free environment with no competition for places, and where 4th is greeted by riotous street parties.
Nasri is now at a club where because of the money spent, the expectation is sky-high and such is the competition for places that should he slack off, he will be dropped. At Arsenal, Wenger admitted Nasri had issues motivating himself and yet a club of mercenaries like Citeh can get him more motivated?
It is 100% down to Wenger and anyone attempting to absolve him of blame here needs to get real. The reason Arsenal never had the likes of Alonso, Nilmar, Ribery etc playing for our club is because of the manager's fundamental lack of ambition; and obsession with idiotic French pussies. That's why I laugh when Koscielny and Oxpot are signed for combined feed of £25 million and yet people moan that Wenger can't compete. Hilarious.

You're preaching to the converted with me. And great incisive post once again Babatunde.
Unfortunately some do not see that it is totally, utterly wengers fault we are where we are now and this day (season) has been coming for at least 3, (probably 4 years). They will grasp at anything to absolve wenger of his total culpability and twist and make up shit to do so.
Wenger is not only dragging the club down on the playing front but by his very lingering, corosive presence he is dividing the fans also. Wengers day has come and gone. Unfortunately he, the board and rose tinted fans are unable or unwilling to see it.
But - the good news is the tide is slowly turning. I had hoped that wenger woud resign after the 8-2 performance but I underestimated the arrogance, stubbornness and probably more importantly the greed of the man. In any other, any other walk of life his position would be untenable and he would be gone, one way or the other. Not this loser.
He really has to go and the sooner the better.

I think the point you've made that is especially relevant is the dividing of the fans. The fact that Arsenal fans are now at civil war with each other is all the proof you need that this wanker needs to sling his hook.
Any manager that divides the supporters like this is a cancer. The worst part is that Wenger DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE FANS. It is all about his ego, all about proving his arrogance is correct and he can deliver spending fuck all. He's made it clear his contempt for the fans.
Any manager with humility would resign immediate after that 8-2.
Wenger? Even worse is that barely two weeks after an 8-2 he is still having a pop at anyone who dares to criticise him and is making scandalous pre and post-match interview saying his squad is 'top quality'.
It's fucking insulting and it shows he has absolutely zero class.
Mind you, this club now has zero class. A CEO who lies to the fans, an owner who refuses to ever ever map out a vision for the future and has contempt for the fans raising the prices 6.5%, a chairman who mouths off disgusting tirades in the Daily Star each week; a player who openly admits to wearing a Spuds shirt and doesn't care about the consequences, captains who consistently have no feeling for the club and a manager with no humility who moans about wages in football but is happy to bargain ultra-hard for a ridiculous salary. Oh and lawyers who sue little old Spanish ladies for having hat shops with names they don't like!
you don't think the board have anything to answer for?Babatunde wrote: It is 100% down to Wenger and anyone attempting to absolve him of blame here needs to get real.

Wenger is an employee, and if, like many believe, Wenger has been mismanaging the club by going full steam ahead with HIS project, then why have the board let him? why hasn't Kroenke done anything about it? why did Gazidis say "I'd like Arsene to stay for as long as he has the motivation to do the job" unless he, as CEO, was happy with his performance? Why does Hill-Wood call the fans fools for questioning Wenger?
It's not 100% down to Wenger because Kroenke, and Gazidis on his behalf, have obviously allowed, or even endorsed, Wenger's current strategy. They're in this together and MUST share the blame, surely?!
You want to put ALL 100% of the blame on Wenger, and nothing on anyone else, so I guess that makes you a board apologist... so, to quote you, perhaps YOU need to "get real".
You'll take that bet? really?frankbutcher wrote:I'll take that bet at £50. However, the condition is that Wenger is in charge for the whole season.g88ner wrote:You sure? behind who exactly? 1. Eveton? Villa? Stoke?? which 2 clubs are you thinking of? - personally, I don't think you REALLY believe we'll finish that low down and are just being over the top so your opinion stands out from the crowd.
So, I'll take that bet if you want, Frank. £50? £100?? that Arsenal finish top 6.
Personally, I think we're nailed on for a fight with Liverpool and Sp*rs for 4th-6th position. All 3 clubs will lose too many to catch the top 3, but will win too many for the other clubs to catch them. At the moment, I'd say 5th would be par for this side.

Just so I understand... if Arsenal finish 6th or above, you'll give me £50. If Arsenal finish 7th or lower, I give you £50? (on the condition that Wenger is manager ALL season)
nice

absolutely agree with both #5 and g88nerg88ner wrote:Agreed, it could a rather lame 'battle' for 4th. The team coming in 4th could very well do so because the other two literally give it away.
Christ we've fallen some way haven't we?
As a club, we're sinking like a stone at the moment and the management don't seem to be doing anything about it.... apart from raise ticket prices and make ANOTHER huge profit in the transfer market, of course .

and i'd say another thing that i don't hear people mentioning, but after watching some pieces of man utd and man city games i'd say it would take the quality of one of our teams from 01-05 to have any chances of competing with them and winning real silverware (i don't mean the carling cup) this season.
and fuck me, we are far from it...
and fuck me, we are far from it...

Agreed. It would take a damn good Arsenal team to compete now, but instead of addressing that and fighting for our position as a top club, the Arsenal management are instead going out with a whimper... and a healthy profitbrazilianGOONER wrote:and i'd say another thing that i don't hear people mentioning, but after watching some pieces of man utd and man city games i'd say it would take the quality of one of our teams from 01-05 to have any chances of competing with them and winning real silverware (i don't mean the carling cup) this season.

Man city look class shame retarded father has returned (babatunde) cannot see that adding Nasri and Clichy into a squad with Aguero, Tevez, Yaya, Silva, Dzeko, Kompany, Hart ect would not raise there game and make them look better players.
