No word of a lie, when he used to do the late late show my uncle and auntie got a random letter in the post. It was from the man himself (his people anyway) inviting them to one of Mr Byrnes garden parties. Anyway they went along and said they had a great day. Lots of free food and drink, and a few irish celebs and gaa stars. They got to briefly meet the man himself who thanked them for comming along, and was apparently very nice in person. Anyway they had a great day. As you can imagine it wasnt a cheque they sent him, but a nice friendly letter stating where they could shove said bill. As you can imagine their opinion of him changed after that.
